On the LEW0050P, the blower motor is not working and the capacitor has melted. I'm wondering if i replace the capacitor will this resolve the situation or is there more components to investiage?
Most likely the capacitor is all you will need to replace. However, it is impossible to be sure the motor was not damaged until after you have the capacitor replaced. Dead capacitors usually result in a lack of power, not a surge of power, so it is unusual for a dead capacitor to damage other components.

Blower motor does not work - the dryer is only 2 1/2 years old. Don't want to spend $300+ to fix it, if it's going to happen again (and there may be more wrong than just the blower motor)!
