SOURCE: DVR/TV connection

With the RGB you have to run seperate audio ,I think you have ran the seperate cables for the sound but they are in the wrong place.try changing the RW from the DVR to the TV and you should get sound from them. The unfortunate truth about the HDMI is that the HDMI format has a problem effectivly communicating between components.I am a Directv certified High Definition technition and %50 of the TV's that I connect the HDMI to will not receive the signal. One trick that I have found that works is to make sure you have a picture on the RGB then connect the HDMI.Once you have these connected ,turn your TV off and unplug the power cord from the DVR for 30 sec then plug the DVR in and wait 5 minutes for it to power up then turn your TV on and switch to your HDMI input. This method sometimes works to "Jumpstart" the HDMI input on the TV .There is no guarantee that this will work but is sounds like for now this is your only option,GOOD LUCK.

SOURCE: getting snow when connecting polaroid tv to dish

    Hi bevybab!

I would need more information as to which TV (1 or 2) you're experiencing the problem with, but if this is a new TV it sounds like you may need to change the modulator setup.

You can find the setting under Menu -> System Setup -> Installation -> Modulator Setup. If this is TV1, change the TV 1 Out to channel 3 or 4 depending on what you have listed. If this is TV2; change the mode from air to cable or cable to air and then put the TV on the channel it shows after selecting done to save the settings.

If you can provide more information or have any other questions let me know!

No snow just says to scan chanels . I have over and over

The TV signal is no good if it cannot find any channels. You will have to check the signal cable and its connections right back to the aerial. You may even need a better aerial or a signal booster. Digital TV needs the very best of all these or the picture just goes to porridge.

Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
NB: Please read and understand well, the instructions to enter the service mode, before you begin. Be very careful. Note how to "EXIT" the service mode; after entering and adjusting data. This is very important.

No picture, no menu, black screen, no raster, sound ok

From your detailed description, it sounds that the main chroma processor IC has damaged. Raster means nothing, but the lighted screen that appears, when a TV is switched ON. For some brands, there will be a blue screen; when there is no signal input, and some others will have a bright white screen with some snow.
I advice you to contact any service technician, to get this TV repaired. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

When tv is turned on, screen shows white w/ blue logo, then shows "VGA" and "no signal" on a blue screen. After a minute it turns off. We cannot get a picture. We have a Time Warner...

Right now the TV is set to accept the video signal from PC through the VGA port so when it does not see the video signal from the VGA port, the TV will go into shutdown or standby mode. You need to change the input to be where the cable box is connected to using INPUT or SOURCE button on the remote.
What kind of connection are you using to make the connection between the TV and the cable box?
Please clarify. Make and model of the TV?

    Hello
The fault you describes is due to low signal strength. If tuner of the said TV is faulty, this type of snow interference will occur too. Just check for good firm connection to its antenna terminal. If it is Ok, check the continuity of the cable used with antenna. Check the orientation of yagi antenna if used outside. If all are OK, and nothing help you, just replace its tuner with same type and number. Tuner is a small metal box type component can be seen soldered directly to the main printed circuit board inside. Usullay, its one terminal will come out as antenna IN of the TV, to which you connects the external antenna or cable. You must have a concept of soldering and desoldering to replace it, and must have a knoledge in electronics too. OK.

When I turn the tv on (vega fd trinitron) the scren is all snow. There is no signal.

    Hello
Have you tested it with auto tuning progremme process. If it snow there, your TV may be working properly. Sometimes its signal input path is not Ok. Without any signal, all TVs may show either snow, or a plane blue raster if its blue back function is on. You just do the automatic tuning process once again after connecting it with an external or internal antenna. There is a socket provided there in the back side of your TV, and marked as VHF/UHF. Connect the signal source to it first.
And set your TV to autotune by slecting it from the menu of your TV. The TV will search for all the channels available at that time, and after searching is completed, it will stop and show the first channel received. Afterwards you can chage or delete or skip unwanted channels. You may have its manual with you. All the descriptions are there in that manual. Ok.
