I bought this tv last christmas and it worked fine... for about a day! After that it has a problem with every dvd we put in, new or old. There will be no scratches at all on it and the tv wont read it. I have tried a disk cleaner, more ventilation to cool the tv down and everything else we can think to do. Please help if you have had this prob. I dont know what else we can do, so any help is great! thanks!
We have the exact same problem! Old and new dvd's just keep skipping. Also, sometimes it will not work at all, the dvd just spinns around and never starts. Frustrating! We have the exact same problem! 1. I hope you checked the user manual for your DVD player to determine if your problem is in the list of troubleshooting issues.
2. Check if the disk you put into the DVD player is compatible to play in your machine. Did you try to play a Blu-Ray disk in the DVD player? If so, trying to play a non-compatible disk will result in in the No Disk or Error message.
3. Make sure the compatible disk is inserted into the player tray with the readable side of the disk facing downward.
the region code means the player does not support the disc your playing each country is given a region code for dvd australias is region 4 if you buy a dvd from another country it wont work you can get multi region codes for dvd players im not sure of pioneers code but try using a dvd from your country region and youl find it works just fine you can also try asking a tech on fixya for the multi region code for the model dvd player you have.
It is probably misreading the disk. That is what ours did. We would have to take it out and put it back in several times to get it to work. You can take it to be repaired and get a DVD drive in it, but it would probably be cheaper to get a new one, since they're only about $25 dollars these days. (Note: the cheapest DVD players seem to work best for us)
no. they should last longer. however electronics from walmart have been known to not hold up. i bought a 20 dollar dvd player from best buy like 4 or 5 years ago and it still works perfectly today.
Ran into the same problem with this DVD player and my LG tv. Try this:
Open the DVD tray, with the DVD tray open press the HDMI select button until the proper resolution for your tv is illuminated, put the DVD back in, close the tray and try again. Simple fix -- worked beautifully for me.
It almost has to be the discs. Try them in a friends unit.
I had a similar problem with DVD's I burned and had printed labels and put the label on the discs. It caused the disc to be out of balance. I peeled them all off (what a job) and the discs play fine now. I'm now a "magic marker" person... :)
Disney = Made in China.... Probably full of lead paint, too!! J/K.. Seriously, though... The laser is worn out and will need replaced, but it is unlikely that you will be able to find a new one, since its a generic Chinese import thats been rebranded. Time for a new one.
