Green blur bot-R and up-L corner and no audio

There is a green blur in the upper right and lower left hand corners of my Konka K2386U TV. The green only appears in some pictures, and is very slight. On blue screen, it is very noticable. This blur is just a color distortion of green, but not does not produce a fuzzy picture, nor does it morph to any other color besides green. also, the tv has no audio. it has an audio out jack component which works fine, but the speakers do not play sound. any quick fixes? I am very handy, but i've never opened up a tv before, and if there is something quick i can try or quick soldering, i am capable of such. thanks in advance!!

thank you for the comment. i think you are right with the degausing. as I leave the tv on, it seems to be fading, so perhaps a demagnetizing device will help.

I checked the audio, and it said the speakers were turned on. any other thoughts as to the audio? is this easy to fix?

If a standard TV has color splotches in 1 or 2 corners of the screen, it is possible that a large magnet, such as a large speaker, is or was near the set and has magnetized the picture tube. The set has a built-in degaussing coil but it is small and will only demagnetize small magnetic fields. Make sure there are no magnets near the set and if the colors are still off, have the picture tube demagnetized with a strong portable demagnetizer. As for the audio, when there are audio output jacks on the back of the set then there is usually an option to turn the speakers off. Some sets have a switch somewhere and some sets have a setting in the audio page of the on-screen menu. Look for a switch or go into the menu, navigate to the audio page and look for a speaker setting (ON / OFF) and make sure the speakers are set to ON.

First, make sure the signal is good. Some cable boxes and satellite boxes can have no audio coming out. Does the set have audio if you play a video or DVD? If the signal to the TV is good and the speakers are switched to ON and you still haveo no sound, the audio output IC could have shorted out or the speakers themselves could have opened up. In this case the set should be serviced by a qualified tech who will also take care of the degaussing.

Color issue

Replace 120k resistor on the blue video output module. Resistor is located next to the blue video output transistor (has heat sink). If you replace it with a 1/2 watt carbon type, it will probably never happen again. I recomend the same resistor on the red and green video boards at the same time.

Color distortion

Move any speakers or electrical devices away from the set. It could also be anything electronic or magnetic. Anything near the set that generates a magnetic or electromagnetic field could be causing the distortion.
