Showing distance from home when setting favorites

I just bought a new C340. When I search for locations to add to my favorites, they show distance and direction from Garmin in Olathe, KS rather than from my selected "HOME" location. How can I change this?

Why won't all my favorites display? Only showing 12 of 38.

Your favorites bar will only show up to 12 at most due to the amount of room that you actually have on the screen. Simple click the Favorites button or go to Tools>Favorites to see all of them.

Why does computr show error 404

Your link in your Favorites is out dated and is taking you to a dead internet location. Follow the first response then delete your existing Favorite and add the new one, as suggested.

Hi, I have entered my new address into my Nuvi 1300 but my old address is still there. How do I delete my old address as well as other addresses I no longer need. Thank you Denise

There are two ways to do this. If you want to delete the address from showing up in the unit when accessing the "Recently Found" locations, simply go to "Recently Found" and select "Clear" from the bottom menu. If you want to delete the saved address from the "Favorites," go to the Home Screen and select "Where to?" Then select the category where you favorite is located (may not show categories if you have none). Now select the old address from the list and select "delete," and then confirm.

My c340 stops at "locating satellites". I reset it

If your StreetPilot c300 or c500 series device is no longer acquiring satellites please read the article linked below to ensure that this is not being caused by something in your environment:

Why won't my unit acquire satellites?

If after reading the above article your unit is still having problems, please ensure that your unit's software is up to date. You can do this by using our WebUpdater® program.

If you have tried all of the above suggestions and your unit is still not acquiring satellites, you can perform a master reset by doing the following:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.
  1. Start with the unit powered OFF and unplugged from power.
  2. Touch and hold the bottom right corner of the touchscreen.
  3. Power the unit ON and continue pressing the screen until a new message displays, "Do You Really Want To Erase All User Data?".
  4. Touch Yes and go through the set up again.
Take the unit outside and let it set with a clear view of the sky for 3-5 minutes to acquire satellites. If the unit still does not acquire satellites after this, please contact Garmin Product Support.

The distance for the trip in my favorite is wrong.

Sounds like you might have "off road" selected for your navigation preference. Shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line, or great circle for GPS units. As the crow flies will be shorter than a road route.

Home location keeps showing a different location. reloaded home address still showing a different location.

On the TomTom One, this is impossible unless you have several maps.
Each time you switch to another Map, the preferences such as Favorites and Home addresses only apply to that specific map.

Let me know if it helps or let me know exactly what you are doing to change and set your Home address.

(hint: Change preferences -> Change Home location ?)

Can i do a direct search by entering the name of something. for example the name of a naval base.

You can do this. What you need to do is choose Navigate then POI. In here there is a Search button that will allow you to search the address. Just as a warning: It rarely works. If this is a place you go to often, you can add it as a Favorite. Just go into Add Favorites and scroll until you see My Location. Then set it and name it. You will have it from then on.

Locating satelites

Are you outside, exposed to the GPS signals?

If so, have you tried resetting the unit?

Remove the face cover (GENTLY pry it loose by using the fingernail groove directly under the GARMIN logo), press the RESET button, then re-attach front cover... this is covered in the owners manual, also available online at garmin.com /support /downloads
