GE Adora Frontload Washer shredding clothes

Machine less than 1 yr old. Problems started as soon as I accepted delivery. Machine is very loud during cycle, and barrell bangs during wash. Cycles take much longer than they should, and loads are soaking when at end of cycle. Repairman came to check machine, said nothing is wrong, there is nothing he could do. Machine adjusts itself to balance causing length of cycle to be longer. (Where is the efficiency in this??) Said I was not operating it properly (I have been doing laundry for 25 yrs & have not had these issues, nor do I have these issues with my other GE frontloader-different modle-at our vacation home) Was told need to pack the machine with clothes, wash large loads. Now my clothing is being shredded!!! I am furious, over $400.00 in clothing has been ruined!! Spoke to GE svce center and was told they have received these reports previously. Was transferred to supervisor & was told would need to send repairman out again since it has been 1 1/2 months sine last time they were out. If repairman says nothing worng with machine there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions??? has anyoe else had these problems??

We were having the same problems with ripped clothing and longer cycles. Our rubber seal by the door has ripped twice now causing massive amounts of water to run out. I learned through other threads that many people are having these problems and was told that zipping up zippers and turning jackets and clothing with big heavy stuff on them in side out to protect from ripping the clothing and the rubber seal. I removed the panel on the front bottom of the machince and there is a small gray cover that housed the coin trap. Mine was clogged and once I cleared that out, my cycle times got better. I hope this was somewhat helpful. We definitely won't be purchasing another GE front loader!!

My GE Adora front loader- our clothes stink!

Clothes washing rules for mildew stink: 1) never leave clothes in machine for more than a few hours 2) never add too many detergent or clothes 3) clean the machine itself. Also if your fabric softener port is gummy there is a good chance you got some funk from that so clean all places where you have fabric softener contact. After all that, if this doesn't help you may need to run an empty load of strong hot bleach water and follow it with a hot empty rinse then a load of whites
to becareful not to ruin your colored clothes

Vibration of wash machine

Hi!

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Noise during spin cycles

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.
