You can not change a qs6000 from ps2 to usb by just changing the cable. the interface inside the unit needs to support usb, to check this look at label with the serial number and if it says "I/F=KBW/RS" your our of luck, and can only use ps2 or rs232. if it says "I/F=UW" then you can just scan 3 barcode from the manual to set the interface to usb

you could also spend $5 on getting a USB PS2 adapter, you will just have to set the scanner into notebook mode if there is no keyboard connected to it.

Drivers for ms5145

A standard PS2 to USB cable will not work with these scanners. You'll need to purchase cable # M009-3MA7C. They are expensive, so shop around for price.

QuickScan 6000 Plus cant get it to work with windows 7. If i use ps2 port, the red scanninglight dissapears after one scan. If I use an converter ps2 --> usb and plug it in usb port, it seems to work...

try the other usb ports. sometimes that works. also make sure that your other usb devices are off if possible. If you are using a usb keyboard try using a ps/2 keyboard. If you have an open usb port in the front try using that instead. I have seen this many times. Good luck.

Ive got a second hand psc qs6000 plus barcode scanner. where do download its driver.

If you are looking to program your scanner:

USB Interface
Keyboard Interface

If you are using the USB interface, make sure you are plugging the scanner either directly into the computer, or if you are using a USB hub, it is a powered hub.

I hope this helps.

Windows XP does not recognize the Handheld scanner.

My guess is that the USB hub needs to be plugged in ... if for some reason the usb hub doesn't allow you to plug it in then you need to get one that you can plug in... because I believe the scanner is using more power that the usb port can power. Scanner usually need to be plugged directly into the computer or they need to be plugged into a powered hub.

I hope this helps!!!

Cannot get the datalogic qs6000 to scan 39 or 128 barcode

Sounds like you need an updated driver for your POS scanner.

Other than that, try checking the scanners setting your software and make sure it is set for 39 and 128 bar codes. There is usually a setting that will specify what codes the scanner is going to read.

You can always shoot an email over to the datalogic guys and see if they have any more input on the situation.

PSC 6000 Plus not scanning

There are a few questions:

What kind of cable do you use?
USB, SERIAL, PS2

What kind of computer?
Normal computer or Laptop?

Then...

When you recieve the scanner like new you always have to program it.

First you do

Reset to factory defaults.... Never do this with working scanners

then

you have to program it.

First the Connection type
and then if needed a computer type.

After that you usually have to scan a suffix.

This means when you scan a barcode it needs to do something after.

normally it doesn't give Enter after you scan.
That is what the suffix is for.

and then you scan additional symbologies to scan

Like Code 39, UPC A etc. etc.

It needs to be programmed with the manual you recieved.
if you don't have it you can download here.

http://www.scanning.datalogic.com/sitefiles/manuals.aspx

go down in the list to quickscan 6000
and programming manual.

please don't print all the pages. only what you need.

If you need more help i will hear it.

good luck.
