What you are describing is a bad print head. You can try running the eliminate light stripes several times, and jet substitution, but most likely the print head will have to be replaced to remedy your problem. You can try googling. Phaser printer print heads or phaser printheads. There seems to be a secondary market appearing for those print heads. I can tell you from Xerox, if you have no maintenance agreement, they cost $750 per print head. Honestly, having worked on about every type of color printer known to man, the new solid ink phaser printers, produce a dry ink image of 2400 x 2400 dpi with ink particles that align end to end. The resolution of those printers are remarkable and can be purchased for less than the price of one of those new print heads. Now for reliable, albeit somewhat not as sharp a color image, but still exceptional, you really can not beat an HP. The ink stick technology really no longer has the color vividness advantage it initially had. The inks that align end to end, have ended that advantage and are sure a lot cheaper to operate per page.
your laser printer
1) print color quality is now distorted that means print skew (technician called)
2) print tint means the print color not enough density,
3) print mottle means print dirty
you may try
1) print distorted--- find out the skew adjustment from your printer manu, it is adjust the image before transfer to the drum.
2) print skew could be happened when the drum replace install not very accurate, so install it more carefully.
3) print tint---you may increase print density from the manu, not fix,
4) print tint---the toner caridge near life cycle or using the less compatible toner. so you have change the quality toner or cartridge (if near life cycle) to improve quality photo print
5)print mottle---toner quality ? or cartridge near life cycle also cause print dirty paper,
Sounds like a Vista or Picasso problem. Suggest you use explorer to copy photos directly from camera to a folder on your computer, then look at them and see if they are OK, if so, it is a Picasso problem. If the same, is likely a Vista problem. If still in doubt. Take memory stick to a photo lab and load on their system and see what you get.
ISSUE:
When printing from the computer, you receive a line of garbage or all of the printed output comes out on one line.
SOLUTION:
See the following:
Perform
a self-test to be sure that the HP LaserJet printer is functioning
properly. If the self-test is not correct, remove all cables and
accessories (if any) and print a self-test again. If the self-test is
still not correct, service the printer. If the self-test is correct, go
to the next step.
Reseat or replace the cable. Check
the cable for bends or pressure applied by objects resting on the
cable. A faulty cable or cables that do not meet the IEEE-1284 Standard
can cause print defects by distorting signals.
