5 flashes, bad lamp and/or lamp driver 4 flashes, bad or stuck fan There is a chance that the bulbs are not bad, but you will need a small fan to test this. Place a small fan blowing directly behind the set and run it for several minuts before turning the set on. This may help clear the code and allow you to watch tv if not then your lamp or driver has gone bad and needs replaced.
If Fan is running when you turn TV on and keeps running then its OK ,Ballast Board is what turns Lamp on, Is Lamp Lighting at all?
Encompass Parts Distribution has Ballast board for $62.00
Be sure to give the whole model # to TV Ending in WXXaa
WAX/XAA or WX/Xaa HLR6167wxxaa or wax/xaa or wx/xaa
1-800-638-3328 You can also go to their website and type in your model # for List of Parts and Free Service Manual.
Loud sound you are hearing is coming from your color wheel and has your Lamp ever been replaced? this set has 3 Fans they all must be running for set to operate correctly! Encompass Parts has Boards and Color Wheel But for Lamps Mats has them for 99.00 1-800-628-1118 and EC Parts 1-800-638-3328
Are you SURE that the lamp door switch is properly in place?? This sounds like a problem of this type. If this is Ok, and the lamp does NOT try and strike, check to see if the fans are starting. if they try and start, and then the set shuts down, one of the fans is bad or clogged with dirt. If NOTHING happens but the 3 blink code and the door switch is ok--perhaps the thermal sensor above the lamp has opened, due to excess heat and/or poor ventilation.
Could be your Ballast Board that fires up lamp or Fan is bad that cools Lamp there is also a Fan mounted up under Light Engine if it stops running set will not come on. CK Fan Behind lamp first if it is OK then replace Ballast Go to E-Bay for Best Deal on that part .
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on
the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device
and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
