GE Triton Dishwasher won't stop running

We had a power outage the other night while it was washing a load. Does anyone know how to reset/restart the dishwasher? It won't stop and it seems to be going thru random cycles. Its happened before but unfortunately I forgot what I did to clear the problem. Thanks for the help.

Have the same problem. Resetting circuit breaker didn't help. Found it is on 2004 recall list. Thanks.

power outage caused my GE Triton dishwasher to do the same thing. The cycles kept going and in random order.I had to turn off the circut breaker about 3 times but it finally worked.

I ran the dishwasher and it ran and ran. Would change in the different settings, but would not stay in the drain cycle and would never stop running...Calling to see if recall # and it is.. I just about ordered a new dishwasher..Thanks to this site, I am getting this fixed!!!!

Our triton dishwasher started running extremely long - and now it's hitting random cycles - sometimes all the lights flash on - then off -then it goes into sensing - and drying and rinsing - it's just all over the place. I tried turning off the power for 5 min. but it didn't help.

Have you checked to see if that model is included in the GE dishwasher recall?  I had a GE Triton Quiet Power 2 that was recalled due to fire danger after using the JetDry dispenser.  Got a decent rebate for a new GE model.

My sister year old GE dishwasher won’t start. Ha don’t a power outage and after power came on she tried to start it and wouldn’t work.

If it was running when the power outage happened, that may have "fried" the control panel.
She needs to have it checked by an appliance repair person to see if that is so.
God bless your efforts.

I have a GE Triton XL dishwasher. The power went out during the night, and when it came on the dishwasher was making a loud alarm sound and the control panel isn't working (no lights or anyth

Yes, try unplugging it (or turning off the circuit breaker), wait for 15 to 30 seconds and then try pluggin it back in.

GE Triton dishwasher will not drain and after cycle.

Look at the timer to see if the contacts have finally worn off. The circuit board may have failed too.

Dishwasher won't stop washing

Could be a couple things... but let's address the "not draining" first

Have you recently installed a new disposal? Ensure that the drain plug is removed "punched-out". The plug is located where the air-gap or your dishwasher drain-line is directly connected to the disposal.

This can possibly make the rest of the machine malfunction due to the sensing of "sitting" water that is not draining. Ensure you're pump and filter is not clogged from debris (Inside, right, rear of dishwasher or screen type material)

Other than that, the problem can also possibly be your control board ($100+ dollars for part only)

GE Triton not working

Jitterbugclu-
I may have the solution. Husband just turned off power to dishwasher via circuit breaker. Waited around 30 minutes.
Restored power and Triton came back with normal lights.
I just ran a cycle and all was well. Hope this helps you.
My fingers are crossed because I don't know what happened but did read on another site that this should be the first thing you try before expen$ive repairman.
Reply back if it works!

Ge triton xl dishwasher

One answer is NEVER buy another GE product!!! I bought all GE Profile appliances when I redecorated my kitchen. Have had issues with every single piece. Refrigerator has been replaced twice (on 3rd one). Triton XL dishwasher will not reset...good luck getting it back to normal wash if you change a cycle...for example to run just a rinse. It is almost impossible to get it to reset. And don't get me started on the over the stove microwave. Never have been able to use the lights. Every time from day one I turn them on, the bulbs blow and the cover shatters. Absolutely no support from GE!!!
