Nintendo ds lite power fault

The unit will not switch on. The mains charger only blips the power on lite and then goes out.

The console often turns itself off after only a couple of minutes play, i initially thought it was the battery so i bought a new one and the problem still persists.

I would think you have one of 3 problems, the entire unit is bad, the battery is bad, or the cable is bad. The easiest thing to check is the cable, if you have another DS lite just try the cable, otherwise most walmarts and targets have them. If its just the battery, then you can purchase a new one at http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?lastAction=setCurr&jspStoreDir=NOASTORE&languageId=-1&catalogId=10001&categoryId=62206&productId=108205¤cy=USD&storeId=10001&ddkey=SetCurrencyPreference Lastly, if neither of these solutions work, try contacting Nintendo about warranty work. Nintendo is usually very good about fixing problems like this. Here is a link to get the process started on warranty work. Good luck with your DS, its a great system

Something's probably burned out, here's a tip:
buy a new d.s. lite, take it and its charger out of the package, put the bad d.s. and charger back in the box, then return it, say you decided you did not want one.
tip:
do not damage the box seal when you take the new d.s. out, replace the seal whwn done.

DS Lite Will Not Power On

There is a possibility that your battery has developed a short circuit or is so bad that it pulls down the charge voltage on the charger. You are therefore left starved of a power and therefore no function.
If possible, disconnect the battery and run the DS on the charger power alone. If the DS starts to work, I suggest replacing the battery.

US Nintendo DS-Lite with converter problems in South Africa

Hi,

It should work straight out with a step down transformer. That is of course if the mains supply in South Africa is 240 240 and the unit being American is 110.

This is of course not unless it was initially tried without a transformer or stepdown converter which would mean that the charger/adapter has been fried and therefore damaged.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Ds lite ac wall charger

When you first get the DS it will have a bit if charge on it but only a few hours worth. When the DS charges it usally comes up with a orange/red ish light then that goes out about a few hours later when its charged. ad if you want to chek if it is charging correcly turn the DS on whilst it is charging and the little battery simble in the top right corner should show the battery carging.
