Hooking up to vcr/dvd player

I do not have cable but I do want to hook up my tv with a vcr/dvd player. Since this is an older tv it does not have the current connections. please help.

my problem is hooking up a vcr dvd recorder to an older tv. i've tried output from dvd to input of tv,it did't work.

I have an older TV with only an antenna hook-up, a VCR, a DVD recorder and a converter box that I would like to hook all together. I can get the VCR to work, but don't really know how to hook the DVD...

Try this. You will need 2 RF cables and a RCA cable that has a red, black, and yellow plug on each end.

Plug the antenna signal into the converter box.
Connect the RF output (TV out) of the converter box to the RF input on the VCR
Connect the RF output (TV out) on the VCR to the TV
Finally, plug the DVD recorder into the converter box also, but use the 3 RCA cables that came with it (audio left, right and video).

have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver.After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using thishookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv asusual...Now plug rca cables(red,yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directvreceiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavoxplayer...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that'sok) Now hook up up the dvd player

to the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if yourtv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available atwalmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connectionsto the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)

Hooking my DVD player up to my HD converter

connect as follows,,,
converter-->VCR-->TV
DVD-->VCR-->TV

watch DVD as before, when VCR is off, the converter will show up on the TV

Hooking up DVD/VCR combo to directTV and console RCA

I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.

Hook-up

first you do connect cable to your > combo VCR / DVD player & recorder then connect to > to your TV:
cable coax output or if that cable have video/audio ouput is going to INPUT >to combo VCR / DVD player video / audio output is going to INPUT > to TV,.that's the time you can record and playback;

Samsung tv - switch to play a dvd player

All you should have to do is hit the TV/Video button on your remote. It also could be named AUX, or or INPUT. What this does is tells the tv to switch to the input you have the DVD player hooked up to. Otherwise it will keep drafting a signal off of your cable line.

Trying to Install

Do you have the red, white and yellow hookups on the back of your TV????? If you don't then you need to get an RF Modulator. You can buy one at Walmart. Older TVs don't have the red, white and yellow hookups. You hook up the RF modulator with a short cable to the cable outlet on your TV. Then you plug in your DVD player to the RF modulator. You also plug your cable for the TV into the RF modulator. It really is very simple. Directions are included with the RF modulator. You will need a short piece of cable also.

How to hook up portable dvd player to watch on t.v.

You can use the VCRs video in and audio in to view the DVD player. The VCR will act as the RF modulator. You may have to select the TV/VCR button to select the input. (Sometimes line in or Below channel 2 is the L1 L2 input) The VCR has a built in RF modulator.
