SOURCE: fine color vertical lines in right and left side of screen

One of two things could be wrong.. One is the digital board and or connector. the second is that the LCD display is going bad..

SOURCE: Multi colored lines running from top of screen to bottom

panel is cracked the cost of the repair is usually about 90 percent of the cost of the tv when purchased new. panel and labor. not worth if panel is cracked.

SOURCE: Red color is completely gone out of the LCD flat screen

You can try performing a factory reset of the TV. Go into the service menu (Press, then release the INPUT button on the remote, then key in 2580). Scroll down to "Other Settings", then go to "EEPROM Init", then press enter, select YES and press enter. This will reset the TV to the factory defaults. Good luck!

SOURCE: I have a Flat screen

Are the lines all the way across the screen? or just a few? Solid black - or trannslucent?

Like this??

Horizontal drive has either data, voltage, or control problem from the pixel registry circuit......get it serviced before the problem spreads causing further damage.

However, in all likelyhood, the panel itself is bad. The Bravia line has had a bad rap about the faulty displays, and at $1800 replacement (plus labor) - it may be time to call SONY direct to complain!

Thanks!!

2/5 of the screen has vertical lines multi colors. Is this a fixable problem?

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display problem (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further resolution updates will be on my Facebook page.

Sounds like your display panel needs to be replaced. As far as your speakers they sound to have gone bad if it plays sound externally but not on the onboard ones.

My colors all of a sudden went out of wack

Is there an advanced convergence setup anywhere in the menu where the screen displays a grid? If so, you might want to get into that and move along the grid to each section that looks off. Adjust until the color falls behind the gridline, and move on to the next. It can be a time-consuming process, but should take care of your convergence issues.
