Won't Turn On

I just bought this Proscan 19LA25Q about 6 days ago as an on-the-floor model. I installed it that night and turned it on to watch. After about an hour or so, the picture went out but the sound continued. I turned it off and unplugged it for the night, figuring it was overheated or something. Now it refuses to turn on. I've tried multiple outlets on this, and for the past three days I've been trying to contact RCA Customer support with no results. Any idea on what to do?

TV stopped working. The red button is on which shows that it is receiving power however, there is no picture nor sound. How do I get around this problem?

I have the same problem. Still under warranty.Purchased at KMart, who refuses to honor the warranty because I didn't purchase their Smart Plan. Proscan says it's up to KMART to take care of. KMART says no. Round and round we go.

I FOUND OUT THAT THE POWER CORD DOES NOT FIT TIGHT I PUT THE CORD IN THE RIGHT POSITION THEN TAPED IT PROBLEM SOLVED

I SERVICED THE SAME 19" PROSCAN TV WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE POWER ADAPTER ,
REPLACE WITH NEW ONE MAKE SURE IS 12VOLTS @ 5AMPS
WITH CORRECT POLARITY OTHERWISE IF YOU ARE A TECH AND CAN OPEN UP THE POWER SUPPLY ADAPTER THEN REPLACED C10 AND C11 BOTH ARE 1000 UFD @ 25VDC 105
DEGREE RATING CAPS WITH LOW ESR MADE FOR SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY, THESE CAPS CAN BE BOUGHT FROM MOUSER ELECTRONICS OR MCM ELECTRONICS. THANK YOU

The Proscan 19LA25Q came with a remote originally. Unless the IR receiver has failed, it should work with a universal remote. (Note: if the TV is newer than the remote (or released less than 6 months before the remote was programmed), the remote codes for your TV may not be included.) Since the code lists on universal remotes do vary depending on the age and model, please give more information than just the brand. GE remotes usually have a version code label in the battery compartment. This version code is needed to look up the correct code lists. Some GE universal remote built by Jasco codes are here: https://byjasco.com/support/ge-universal-remote-codes.

The Proscan 19LA25Q was probably built in 2007, since there are reviews from 2007. That was also the year when this size TV had to have an ATSC tuner. So if your remotes were programmed before July 2007, they may not be compatible. Some of the current Proscan TVs probably use the same parts as some Sylvania, RCA and Curtis TVs.The 19LA25Q was warranted by On Corporation which has control of the RCA brand now. However, I don't know when they bought the label.

Finding a new remote

The most inexpensive solution, is to buy a universal remote. I own a One-for-All universal remote (model URC-4220) which works with Proscan TVs. I bought it at Walmart for less than 10 dollars.
You can also find a list of companies that sell Proscan remotes, by typing PROSCAN TV REMOTES into the Google searchbox.
These companies will charge you more money, for their remotes.

Television for 6 months and it died. The model number is as follows: 19LA25Q where would I find the warrenty information if I lost all the paper work or how could I get in touch with the manufac.?

If you have power, sound, & channel changing capabilities your LCD backlight inverter burned out. You need to go to E-bay and purchase a 4 bulb LCD backlight inverter for about $25.00 and install it. I did it with mine and it works fine now.
