I have a Dell Dimension 2350 computer with a Dell E772c monitor and I'm using Windows XP. Here is my problem. I reinstalled Windows XP following the directions in the manual. Now my resolution is set to 640x480 and a default monitor. I've tried changing the resolution by doing the following: Clicking Start, control panel, display, settings and and moving the slide but the slide that you click and drag won't move. I followed the trouble shooting guide and this is how I found out I had a default monitor selected. I followed the instructions that tell you how to install the correct monitor: start, control panel, appearance & themes, display, display properties, settings, advanced, monitor, properties but when you get to the point that you are suppose to click on ''Properties'' it is not highlighted so I can not make that selection and get to the point to select the correct monitor and install the drivers. Please Help!!!
Do you have the driver disc that came with the PC? Puting in the driver disc does some sort of installation, but it doesn't actually install the drivers (I think it installs the software that installs the drivers). After the initial install, you get a page with a menu located in the middle. This menu contains links that take you through the drill to install all drivers, user manuals, and online help. Install the drivers before you install any fix or services packs.I had the same problem.

I clicked on the power icon under settings (Win+I)and checked power settings in Control Panel. All missing a way to get the Dell 745 to go to sleep directly or to go into sleep after a period of time. Would this be an issue with Windows, the BIOS, something else?I clicked on the power icon under settings (Win+I)and checked power settings in Control Panel. I went into the BIOS (with F2 during restart) and changed a value -- IIRC it was called something like "power management scheme" -- from the default S3 to the other choice, S1. Now the old Dell XP Dimension 2350 will go into and out of Standby correctly and the new SE198WFP 19" LCD will too.
Hi, Its possible that your cmos settings were changed prior to this problem so as not to display cmos settings options at boot up. Have you tried resetting your cmos settings to fix the problem? You can do this by a jumper which is usually found on the mother board named "clr cmos" (clear cmos). Let me know if this is of help or not. Regards, Graemevm
Check the jumper on the back of your drive. Chances are that the jumper is either on "slave" or "cable select". Change the jumper to master, and try rebooting.
first right click my computer then properties
scroll done and you'll see your audio in there somewhere
if it's there then click on it and update driver
if it is not then I can tell you how to add your driver again
You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
go to pricegrabber.com to buy a new copy of XP. Save the stuff U want and install the new os. reload U'r saved data. If some of what U wnat to save are programs, U will have to reinstall those. The new XP os will self install from cd on boot up.
I had the same problem.
