Bluetooth driver on aspire 4710 with win 7

turn your pc on and right click on my computer and go to manage in the left hand pane click device manager.

now click on the Bluetooth device if you cant see it and it just says unknown then its that one/
once you have it right click and go to properties and then driver
in the drop down menu below change it to hardware ID's

you will be presented with some gobbledygook that looks like
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0141&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_A2
what you want from this is the ven and dev numbers

so ven: 10DE and dev:0141

take these to the website pcidatabase and search ven then dev this will give you the specific device.

once you have it copy the name into your search engine followed by driver and your OS

Local area connection driver download

unfortunately there isn't a website that just hosts drivers for all technology but there is something that can help.

first right click on my computer and go manage, once their go to device manager and then to the device that is missing the driver so this will be your LAN connection.

right click this and go to properties then to the tab details
in the window below there is a drop down menu change this to hardware ID.

and it should look something like this
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8169&SUBSYS_0C24105B&REV_10

what we are after is the numbers after VEN and DEV so:
VEN 10EC
DEV 8169

the VEN number is for Vendor I.e. who makes it the next is what device it is.

armed with both of these go to pcidatabase and search the VEN and then DEV till you find the numbers that match once you have this copy what it says the device is, paste this into google and then add driver and what ever OS it is so example

Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family PCI Gigabit Ethernet NIC windows 7 driver

of course if you use a 64bit OS check that it is a 64bit driver

No sound divices

Check that device is not functioning correctly because of incorrect or missing drivers by going to START - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM then choose the Hardware tab followed by hitting the Device Manager button.

Now right click on the device in question and click 'Properties', go to 'Details' and there should be a long line of letters and numbers such as...

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1229&SUBSYS_00408086&REV_0C\3&61AAA01&0&48

The VEN is the device Vendor or manufacturer and DEV is the Device in question.

After writing down the VEN and DEV numbers go to...

http://www.pcidatabase.com/

Enter the Vendor number and press enter.
Click on the Vendor provided.
Ctrl+F and enter the DEV to find the Device.

Usually there will be comments containing the web address of where you can find your drivers, if not you now know the manufacturer of the device so that you can visit their online support section where the drivers can be found.
