Check that device is not functioning correctly because of incorrect or missing drivers by going to START - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM then choose the Hardware tab followed by hitting the Device Manager button.
Now right click on the device in question and click 'Properties', go to 'Details' and there should be a long line of letters and numbers such as...
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1229&SUBSYS_00408086&REV_0C\3&61AAA01&0&48
The
VEN is the device Vendor or manufacturer and
DEV is the Device in question.
After writing down the VEN and DEV numbers go to...
http://www.pcidatabase.com/Enter the Vendor number and press enter.
Click on the Vendor provided.
Ctrl+F and enter the DEV to find the Device.
Usually there will be comments containing the web address of where you can find your drivers, if not you now know the manufacturer of the device so that you can visit their online support section where the drivers can be found.
