DVD players designed for the US are set for Region 1 and cannot be used with DVD's that are from other regions such as Great Britain and most of Europe which use Region 2 DVD's . What you need is a "Region Free" player which plays all regions or a player that plays your specific region. We live in the US but watch many British DVD series so use.a Region Free player as they are Region 2 and we are in Region 1.
maybe you can return the player or at least get some sort of credit for it towards the correct region player. If you are unsure of your region, just Google it.
all dvd players are region free when you first buy them, they set the region themselves, after 5 dvd's have been played on them. So if you had a european dvd player and played 5 USA dvd's on it , it would lock to the USA region and you would be unable to play european dvd's on it. Exactly what a friend did many years ago when he bought a load of american dvd films from someone and played them on his brand spanking new dvd player :)
The problem with Amazon DVDs purchased is the region codes each disc may contain. Since a majority of them would be from USA, and their region is 1, your player being region 4 would not support that code.
There is no fault here, it is just a restriction. Some discs work, some don't.
No one likes region restrictions - particularly on DVDs bought legally, and I doubt very much Panasonic would provide any information on unlock codes for you.
Be warned: if you do successfully find a hack to unlock your player so it becomes region-less, expect the risk of either the player failing later, or not reading any discs at all. I am sure there are 'region-free' players around now, which don't contain a restriction and can play ANY DVD any region.
On the other hand, if you have a DVD drive on your PC, and it is set to
region 0 or all regions, and the discs play fine in it, but not the player, then you could view those particular discs that way; you do not need to make any copies of any of the DVDs just to watch them.
Here is a solution: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-c6900/10895
Please note, however, that even
after region code hack, it may remain NTSC only, so if you are planning to
play European DVDs recorded with PAL system, it may not work.
The problem with ordering from Amazon is the place of source is not alway obvious. If you live in the UK and order a film and the seller is in USA, unless you notice this and select another supplier, you will receive region 1 and need region 2.
IF YOU LIVE IN THE USA OR CANADA THEN YOUR IN REGION 1 AND IT WILL PLAY WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING BUT IF YOU LIVE IN ANOTHER REGION OR YOUR DVD PLAYER IS FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR SOME REASON THEN IT WONT PLAY.ALL DVDs MADE IN THE USA OR CANADA ARE REGION 1.
Most DVD players have what u call region codes to play different types of dvd's. Look in your DVD menu settings and select the correct region code where u live. The US region code is 1. So this where I would start.
My question to you is does it play normal dvd's ok. Such as DVD's made in the United States, if so it's set right now for US region.
Also check your user maual for all region codes its usually there.
you have to change the DVD region setting of the machine to be able to play those european discs. Look for a code to make it region-free if you can. Just do search in the net you might be lucky.
what you need is the region code for your dvd player. so you can play region one and any other region dvds. what is the brand and model of your dvd player? then i can check and see if there is a hacking code for you.
