How to install Wireless-G Router to my gateway computer.

1)hardline connect (no wireless)
2)look up your default gateway ip
3)open browser (IE, chrome, safari, whatever)
4)type in your default gateway ip (maybe 192.168.1.1 or something)
5)type in the username and password (admin, admin or admin, password or admin, blank)
6)select wireless
7) SSID is the name of the network and i usually select WPA WPA2 mixed for password type
8)don't forget to save changes

You need to configure your router with below method. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then set WAN settings as internet service provider settings enable DHCP. .Click on wireless and enabled it. Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. 1. Disable the Wireless Adapter on your computer.
2. Hold the "Reset" button on the pack of the WGR614 for 20 seconds(might need to use a paper clip/small pen)
3. Connect an ethernet cable from one of the numbered ports on the Netgear and connect it to your PC
4. Click on "Start", "Control Panel", "Network and Internet", "Network Connections" (or on Vista, "Network and Sharing Center", then "Manage Network Connection")
5. Double-click on the "Local Area Connection"
6. Click on the "Support" tab (or "Details" on Vista)
7. Make sure an IP address and Gateway are listed. With netgear it should be 192.168.1.1 or some models are 192.168.0.1 for Gateway. If you get 169.x.x the network cable is probably faulty.
8. Open web browser
9. Type in the address of the default gateway(probably http://192.168.1.1) (Default user: admin, default pass: password)

You can re-enable the wireless adapter once you've configured the router. Make sure to pick a Unique SSID. (Unless you already are familiar with where to locate the saved wireless profiles on your computer so you can delete the old profile when the settings do not match)

Make sure your desktop doesn't have static IP address. Go to Network Connections, Properties of Local Area Connection, Internet Protocol > Properties. Select Obtain IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Servers Automatically. Apply the changes and restart the computer.

Do u have any wireless security set on ur router ?

do a IP config/all in MS Dos window. then, note down the default gateways IP address. Then, open a browser and put the IP in the address bar. this will open ur Router's Config page.

Go under security to see if u have WEP or WAP turned on.

the easiest way is to use another computer connected to router in any way.
windows xp os.
click start/run type in : cmd
then type in : ipconfig
there is the default gateway number.
