Hi, A Sony VAIO PCWA-A200 is an 802.11b Wireless Access Point Router. Your post "...AC PLUGGED IN AND RUNNING ON BATTERIES...." indicates a laptop issue. To be of better assistance, post the brand/model of your laptop.

    Hi again,

The "AC PLUGGED IN" AND "RUNNING ON BATTERIES".... indicate just that; your laptop is plugged in to the AC mains however, the batteries are not charging nor is the laptop using the power from the AC mains. This is indicative of a hardware problem in your power supply/charging system.

In theory, once a laptop is plugged into the AC mains, the battery is being charged while the laptop uses power from the adapter.

"...DARKER AS IT FLASHES..." Since you're running on battery which is presumably getting weaker, every time the warning flashes, the screen/display is getting lower and lower power hence the brightness growing darker.

Since this is a hardware problem that requires opening the unit and doing electronics diagnosis, possibly soldering,it might be to your advantage to seek the services of a qualified professional. Should the unit be still under warranty, then perhaps you can bring it to a Sony Service Center with proof of purchase/ownership and warranty documents.

Hope this be of help/idea. Post back should you need further information.

    Good luck and kind regards.

Screen goes black unless it's on charge, even though it's fully charged

Right click on the battery icon in the taskbar (Normally located near the clock, bottom right corner of the screen).

In the sub-menu that pops up, select "Power Options".

Next to the power plan you are running, to the right of it, click on "Change plan settings".

Scroll down to and click on "Display" and you will see the computers setting options for both "On battery" and "Plugged in" with the screen turn off time in drop down boxes.

You need to select what time the screen turns off in when no user input is detected for that time. I usually select 5 mins for battery.

Hope this helps, and wishing you a Merry Christmas. ;)

I just bought it and can't set it up?

The iPod Shuffle is one of the smallest MP3 players available. But with no screen and no buttons it is easy to see why you may find it difficult to use and, indeed, set up. In order to set the iPod Shuffle up, the first and most important thing that you should have is the latest version of iTunes running on your computer. Once you have this, and have followed a few steps, setting up the iPod Shuffle is really not too challenging.

Connect to the Internet and download the latest version of iTunes from the iTunes website. http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/ Plug your iPod into your computer's USB port using the USB lead provided with your iPod Shuffle. Create a name for your iPod and type it into the "Name" box in the iPod setup window that appears on your screen. Check, or leave blank depending on how you wish to manage your iPod, the check boxes next to "Automatically sync songs to my iPod" and "Enable VoiceOver" below the "Name" box on the screen. Click on the "Done" tab in the bottom right of the screen when you have finished. Leave "Automatically sync songs to my iPod" unchecked and import songs manually by clicking on the "Music" header in the left-hand column and dragging the songs you want on your iPod into your named iPod file in the left hand-column, underneath "Devices." Alternatively, click in the "Music" tab and sync your songs by checking the boxes by specific artists, playlists and genres. Click on the "Apply" button in the bottom right-hand corner once you have chosen your settings. Click on the "Sync" tab in the bottom right corner when you have selected the music you wish to add if you have decided to add songs manually. Eject your iPod by clicking on the upward-pointing arrow to the right of your iPod's symbol underneath the "Devices" header on the left-hand side of the screen once it has finished syncing. Unplug your USB lead when the "OK to Disconnect" bar has finished loading at the top of the screen. Hope it helps.

When I unplug the printer from my Dell Latitude D610 laptop, the battery icon appears on the bottom right hand corner instead of the "ON AC power" icon and the computers shut down due to a low battery....

Your AC power supply is not providing power - The printer is supplying your laptop with power via the usb port. When you unplug the printer, the laptop runs on battery until it goes dead. You will need another AC power supply,

Good Luck

Does not charge or play, read on computor

In order for the Coby to charge while connected to the computer or other charger, the Coby must be OFF before being connected to the computer. Check the following questions....

QUESTION ONE:
Can you see it in "My Computer"? It will show under "Removable Drive/Storage"

QUESTION TWO:
Double click the removable drive to open the folders. Can you see your music, photo and photo folders?

QUESTION THREE:
Can you see the player in Coby Manager - under the "DEVICE" tab?

QUESTION FOUR:
When disconnected from the computer, how long can you listen to the Coby player before it goes off?

If not present in My Computer or in Coby Manager, then it is not plugged in correctly.
a. Disconnect the player from the computer.
b. Wait for it to cycle through "Please Wait" and "Updating Library" screens.
c. Make sure the player is TURNED OFF
d. With player TURNED OFF, reconnect wire to the player then to the computer.
e. You will see a USB connector icon on the player screen and the player charging in the battery area - upper right hand corner.

It will appear to be charging all the while it is connected to the computer. After it has been plugged into the computer for an hour, it should be well charged unless the battery is completely run down. In that case, you need to do an initial 8 hour charge with the player OFF.

f. Use the Coby Manager to disconnect the player (Found HERE CobyMedia Manager fix for MP822 (Windows XP/2000/Vista)

1. Go to the DEVICE TAB
2. CLICK on EJECT Button in lower right hand corner.
3. It will have a pop-up screen to ask "Do you want to eject?" Click YES.
4. The second pop-up screen will tell you "The device can now be safely removed from the system."
5. The Coby will now show "Please Wait..."
6. It will take the Coby about 10 minutes on the "Please Wait" screen and then on the "UPDATE the Library" screen - Be PATIENT

You should now have enough battery power to use it. To check the battery level,

1. Turn on the player
2. The battery icon is in the upper right hand corner of the screen - it is ALWAYS RED until it starts to go down... I've not had mine down very far, but believe the red line gets shorter as the battery is wearing down.

Let it run on music until it turns itself off. Recharge as above.

Hope this helps.

ZHow do I charge battery (new user)

just plug in your adapter that came with the unit.....leave it for the recommended time for charging and there you go.....if you don't have an adapter...you'll need to find out the required power that it needs and then purchase an adapter that will supply the necessary power....and also of course, the plug must also fit the receptacle on the back of your unit...with the correct polarity......good luck

Battery Problem

Does the computer work when plugged into the power supply? If not the power supply may be the problem. If it does then I would suspect the battery has gone bad.

Is the unit connect to a power cable while you're using it? Sounds like the battery just runs down. Check your power cable, is it properly connected to the cigarette lighter adapter? Maybe your cigarette lighter is defective and the unit is not gettting power, therfore running on battery all the time
