Question about Fisher and Paykel IWL12 Top Load Washer
I have a Fisher & Paykel smart drive 9 [pride] washing machine and originally the problem was that it would wash fine until it got into the rinse cycle and then it would beep and stop. Water was trickling out of the hose intermidently and in the end i had to take the clothes and and finish washing by hand. Next day I went to show the husband what had happened and - bam - no power, no lights, nothing. Unconnected the plug from the wall and reconnected it but still no power and no lights appearing. F&P are being extremely unhelpful and because I live in a country area want to charge $150 just to take a look at it and then parts & labour on top of that. Debating if i should just get a new one
Not familiar with Fisher and Paykel washers personally but here are a few basics to check anyway. You may have only blown a fuse in plug with the power problem, replace the 13amp fuse first of all.The original problem you describe sounds like a blockage near the water pump or pump jammed.Turn off power to washer AT PLUG, and remove the back cover plate, the thick rubber hose coming from bottom of the washer tub leads to the water pump.Try squashing this hose with your hand along the length of hose to feel for any kind of blockage or partial blockage. If there is one you will have to remove the hose at the pump end via a spring clip or jubilee clip,(expect some water to come out) while this pipe is removed you can feel for blockage inside pump and try to rotate the impellar (it should move freely).Replace hose and clip and washer back plate, turn on power and test through wash drain and spin cycles.Hope this is some help to you.
