When the printhead moved left did it hit the left hand travel stop really hard? If so it's probably the same thing that happened to mine-a failure of a travel sensor, which is part of a circuit board. Turned out to be a repair shop job which took forever due to Canon's inability to provide spares for its products.

My printer canon pixma mp550 shows error 5100

The marked part was sometimes not pulled back completely. When printerhead moved to the left position it was stopped there. This caused a horrible sound, caused by the belt.

You could see wear at the area. Flattened the surface with a knife. Tested by tipping down with srewdriver.

My print comes out with a blank strip down the left side of page......when print out comes out about a fourth of the way from left to right theres a blank strip fromtop to bottom...about a inch wide

Hi,

If the printhead in an inkjet printer is printer but not moving then a single block of print will normally be generated along the page. When this kind of problem happens the related components include the printhead positioning motor, the timing belt, the home position sensor, the control board and possibly the power supply.
With the power off, manually move the printhead to the center of the printer. Turn the printer on to see if the printerhead seeks the home position at the far end of the printer. if the printhead moves to the end of the printer, and it doesn't turn off, or doesn't return to the center of the printer then the home position sensor is malfunctioning and needs replacing. If the printhead assembly will not move at any time, check to see if the printer is in maintenance mode. In this mode the printer typically keeps the printer assembly in the home position. If no mode problems are present, then the positioning motor should be replaced.

Good Luck!

Epson LX 300 printer. every line, starting

Try to check your printerhead it could be damage due to over use or old printerhead. Just replace your printerhead to print it normal.

I get a 6a00 error, the first time i start up my canon pixma mx850. I tried to move the printerhead manually and that works fine. But i still get this error everytime. When I look at the sliding mechanism...

if it's 6A00 then theres a problem with the cleaning unit where the printhead parks. Look for any paper scraps in that area,
the two foam pads that must cover/protect the heads when the cartridge is parked are jammed up, preventing the head cleaning squeegee from moving back and forth. Just to the right of these pads is a piece of blue plastic, part of the assembly holding the foam pads . very gentle downward pressure on this blue plastic frees the pads and the squeegee could move back and forth again. and will clear ur issue

there is a safety pin lodged under the far right side (home base). gently push the unit to the left to expose the imposter, and remove it

Howdo you remove printerhead from Kodak 5500

Here is the manual for reference:

Kodak 5500 Manual

If you go to page 88, these instructions are given...with pictures.

1 Make sure the AiO printer is on.
2 Open the printer access door. The carriage moves to a center position.
3 Wait until the printhead is idle and silent, then pinch the pinch latch on the ink cartridge with your thumb and forefinger and lift it out of the print head. Remove both ink cartridges and place them on a flat surface with the ink pads up.
4 Unlatch the printhead by pressing the button in the upper-left corner of the carriage.
5 Remove the old printhead.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Printerhead is not moving

12 times is AP position error.
Check the carriage lift mechanism or paper feed mechanism.
In worst case the print head or logic board assembly are defective.
