I have an imac intel core 2 duo that has installed this kind of burner.Anytime i insert an empty dvd ,inmediatly takes out the disc without asking nothing. I consider important to said that i have try this operation with clean and diferent empty dvd+r. the recorded dvd´s(like a movie for example)are readed perfectly. i used to burn dvd with no problems at all. i would thank if somebody can tell what it is.
Sounds like a software problem. Go back to the original like you said it installed this kind of burner? Dont forget to uninstall it and then reinstall see what happens then. Might be a virus lurking..... and activated the problem of what you have?. Im not saying you did but some people try to copy DVD and they have a safety tab on them to stop this and some clever people linger a Virus for such crime.

thanks!, it worked perfectly. A virus for mac such an strange think,but i had reinstall mac OSX again on my computer and all looks fine on dvd burning again,
