Question about Casio Watches
This problem is regarding CASIO Solar Triple Sensor Pathinfinder wrist watch (PAG-50).
A few months back, the battery in my watch died. It would charge when kept in the sun, but discharge in a few minutes. I took it to a Watch Station store and they said the battery is dead. They could not acquire the CTL1616 cell that the watch needs.
Last week I found the battery on eBay and replaced the dead battery as per the instructions at:
After replacing the battery, before closing the back of the watch, I looked at the display and it had the LCD segments ON. It showed 12:00 time and the seconds were ticking. The word 'charge' under the battery symbol was blinking and 'open' was displayed at the bottom of he display.
After closing the back, however, the display went blank. Even after keeping the watch under a light for hours, the battery won't charge even a little bit.
If I open up the back again, the LCD segments turn ON again, and all that I mentioned above happens. But when I replace the back, everything is blank again.
I wonder what the problem is. Is it really a dead battery? or something is causing the battery to drain - something like a short circuit. Should I just give it more time to charge?
Any pointers/insight would be greatly appreciated.
ensure all three of the springs are present
the 2 at the top confirm that the case is closed the on at the bottom sends the sound signal.
ensure the metal casing on the back of the movement is not touching the back. and check the movement is correctly seated
