This type of programme will be accessing the internet when you are online, so the only way you can uninstall it especially if it is not in add/remove programmes, is to start up the pc in safe mode (keep pressing F8 on boot up) and then when prompted select start windows in safe mode, or try system restore to a date before your daughter installed it.
All your icons will be large, but dont worry, see if you can uninstal from add/remove prog if its ther, if not look in your c:\programmes folder for it if you know the name of it or click search and delete all folders it finds, sometimes it's only a shortcut on your desktop and nowhere else.
When you have uninstalled it restart your pc and it will go back into normal boot up and it should not re appear.

Try to download one of these programs: Total Uninstall or Your Uninstaller. Maybe they help you to uninstall this unwanted software. The programs are not free but have a trial versions. If you want search somewhere for a keygen or serial number. Good luck.

Deedd,
Please go to Control Panel->Add Remove Programs and select this Internet security program. On the right side of this selection you will find "Uninstall/Modify" written. Click on this and follow the instructions. The program will be uninstalled in no time.
These suites get way to crazy because of how they try to force people not to copyright them. Within your install process a rootkit was installed and it wont come out of your computer...do what I did...
Go to www.Myspace.com/KyleGallas to watch a video of a Custom Gaming Computer with all the must have security features...The PC has like $4,000 retail for like $659. It comes with a ton of extras like 133 Nintendo DS Games, Fallout 3, Adobe CS4, MS Office Ultmate 2007, Roxio Ultimate 2009...and more...Nothing is trial-ware but yours forever.
That particular file cabinet that you really should find on a properly registered version of Microsoft Office for English in the US as a registration number will be necessary to fully install Office.
Call Microsoft, and tell them that it's not there, though it should be.
Supply them your C(ertificate O(f) A(uthencity) and you should be good to go.
1. Yes, uninstall before installing any other antivirus program or security suite. Your computer (and you) will be happier. 2. Once you uninstall the trial version of Norton, go ahead and download One Care. I've heard some good things about it, but haven't used it personally or seen it installed on a client's computer. 3. Symantec/Norton has made improvements to their software uninstalls. If you have a newer version of Norton installed, it should cleanly uninstall from the Add/Remove programs area. If it's older, you may have issues getting it to uninstall - leaving remnants as you mentioned. Symantec has help removing their software completely on their support site if you need help.
