I put a new color cartridge in my computer. It printed a couple of pages and then the cover that snaps shut popped up on the left hand side and I cannot get it to move? Is there a way to get in to be able to close the cover. It's an HP Photosmart 7760 InkJet.I put a new color cartridge in my computer. Oh dear, you may have a paper jam preventing it from movin, Open up the unit cover, get a torch and check thoroughly around it and rollers and down the back where paper goes behind unit too. I am willing to ber you find a tiny jam. Post back if it still won't print. Hint: sometimes you nedd to reset printer default settind and turn off and on again when jam is cleared to reset warnings.

Have you tried moving the carriage to see if it really is jammed? Maybe you haven't put the levers down properly on your new cartridges....remove them, see if the carriage slides, then refit them and check the carriage again. You wont visually 'see' a carriage jam,; you have to try moving it. By the way, if it doesn't move, DONT force it to try and overcome the jam try and reason out why it doesn't move. Hope this helps! nicam49
Then in the maintenance settings in PRINTERS AND FAXES,, do a deep ink cleaning,,
If that fails then blot the cartridge on a piece of tissue damped with alcohol.. or let the cartridge sit in some rubbing alcohol for a cpl or minutes and then blot it..
As a last resort if the above fails,,, WARNING NOT A CONVENTIONAL METHOD
try boiling the cartridge for a few minutes,, MAKE SURE THE WATER IS BOILING BEFORE U PUT THE CARTRIDGE in.. so to to remove most of the air from the water to prevent corrosion
As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?
For the cartridge jam, that means that either the ink is not properly installed or there is one tiny piece of something blocking the sensors. Same is true with the carriage jam. Please try to look for small bits of paper and remove it.
Error 1203 on a Lexmark is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad
or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would suggest you to try
cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the
printer and try again..
If that doesn't work just call up their support number and check for replacement..
