Chev van ,problem with overhead dvd player

Overhead dvd player was working fine then one day a problem..video plays on the screen but the sound is only crackle noise on both head sets. We have since tested another new headset and ruled them out as the problem. car electronic shop says it seems the repeater? is not sending the signal properly. they dont repair overhead dvd players. any ideas how to fix this possible problem?

You replace, not fix. Not cost effective.

This is a problem with break wire. I too expierienced this. It is NOT a problem with radio. You need to ground the break wire in the harness. It is a protection wire so that it knows the emergency break is on. In other words it is supposed to stop you from watching movies while driving. Grounding the wire disbales the feature thinking the break is on. If you want to use the safety feature properly it should be connected to the emergency break switch that is grounded when pulled up or on.

hi there
it shouldn't be to hard to install this but it does require cutting a hole in your interior part of roof........a install like this could take anywhere from 30 mins - 1hr for a installer to put it in. to do it yourself it could take 1-3hrs to complete (note for your first time doing this take your time and follow the install manual that will be provided)

No you have to remove that cardboard. It protects the laser in transit I guess.

Pkg-rse2 screen is dim and can't see it

LCD is not affected by cold. This sounds like it is the backlight or the inverter that runs the back light. The back light causes the lcd to be able to be seen.

Overhead DVD monitor screen dead but sound plays through stereo

If it's a Rosen dvd player the dvd will need to be put in the unit itself & not the unit in the dashboard! The dvd player mounted in the head ligning is a seperate unit from the stereo system fitted in your dashboard!
Sounds to me like you are putting a dvd into the dashboard stereo system which will play any audio through the car speakers...
Put a dvd into the Rosen unit itself & i am sure you will get a picture on the drop down screen! Remember that as far as i know all Rosen dvd players transmit the sound from the dvd to infra red headphones that should be included! Remember to check the batteries if you still can't hear any sound as they run down quick if the headphones are left on!

Hope this helps....

Panasonic ovherhead dvd audio with no video

Hi Will, I think I can help. I have a 2004 Cherolet Trailblazer that uses the same model DVD player for its overhead screen. But I had the opposite problem: my screen works fine but the DVD stopped working. So I purchased a replacement overhead DVD player; now I have the old screen that works fine (with the bad DVD player). I can either sell you the old screen that works or you can sell me your dvd player that works. You casn email me at [email protected] Al

Screen displays "Error data" when trying to play a DVD

My understanding is that the DVD player uses a different lens to the CD player. So the DVD lens might need cleaning. A CD lens cleaner would not correct the DVD side.
