Hot Point Side by Side. Freezer works, Fridge not cool enough

I have a Hotpoint Side by Side fridge/freezer with icemaker and water dispenser. It is about 6 years old. The freezer is working fine. But the fridge temp will not go below 42 degrees. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I just came back from the store and noticed the items were WARM.  Temp is around 50 deg F in the fridge, but the freezer is fine.  I have a manual gauge to verify temp, I just tossed in a digital gauge to confirm and cranked the gauge 3 digits cooler to see if it helps.  I also threw in some ice packs and frozen juice to try and preserve the new food while I give it a few hours until I check back.

No ice maker or water hooked up.  I have no clue on the exact model HotPoint, but it is a 19.6 side by side with the OPTION of ice.

Check freezer for frost build up and if fan blowing, check condenser make sure clean, and fan blowing, check vents in refrig. make sure no blockage, freezer control should be in the middle setting, you can try turning that to Warmer Freezer allowing MORE air to refrigertor side.

We have a Hotpoint side by side fridge. It always makes

check the door in the dispenser if moisture is condensing and freezing so that the door won't open try manually popping the door open just before you attempt to dispense ice, maybe you'll get lucky, otherwise your going to have to get a technician to come and check the micro-switch for the dispenser

LG ice maker will not dispense cubes without crushing them

Check the evaporator system, that release the cubes, when that does not work the cubes stay stuck inside.

Water is leakig from behind the control panel

You did the right thing by trying to clear the drain in the back of the freezer, but it must not have cleared. If the ice maker is not leaking then the only other source of water can be defrosting ice build up on the evaporator coils when it goes through its cycle. You know your drain is clear when water can flow down it. Defrosting your refrigerator completly usually solves this. If it does not, then check to make sure the freezer compartment fan is working, next it may be either your thermostat or timer control. Those are pretty much the only possibilties.

Frigidaire ice maker not working

The first step you need to do is to turn the water off to the refrigerator so it quits making until you get it fixed.
If your fridge has the control boards in each side of the freezer cabinet that controls the icemaker, then you have a failed board. If you have a standard icemaker with the metal shutoff arm then you have a failed motor module in the icemaker. You can remove the icemaker and unplug the wiring connector from it so you can leave the water on to the dispenser.

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

Icemaker on Hotpoint Model HSS25GFPAWW Refrigerator not working

try turning the temperature for the freezer down a little bit. it has to at least be around 17 degrees before the older ice makers start to work.

Items in freezer melting, Ice maker empty, fridge feeling warm

hi there,

you have 2 problems:

frist check the freezer thermostat and make sure that it's set to at least 5 or 6. if that is okay and you still have this problem, you may need to have the thermostat replaced and maybe more.

as far as the icemaker, if it's just the ice part that does not work, i would recommend checking the valve and water line coming into the icemaker.

can you tell me if this is a side by side or a top or bottom mount freezer? if you have the model #, that would be great.
