Maybe the remote is busted ! A way to test the remote is to get you cell phone put it on camera and push any button on the remote and you should see a purple light on the cell phone screen, this is the infrared light. lf you don't see it it maybe busted. Get yerself a new universal remote from Walmart fer a coupla bucks..
this indicates that the wrong charger was used for the battery type
it is a result of too fast a charge or the wrong charge (metal hydrox batteries against nicad batteries )
Check the remote control for its infrared emission. If found no infrared emission, check its battery compartment, and clean the battery contacts. If battery contacts have been accumulated with dust or dirt, the remote won't work, as there will be no supply to its internal circuit. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. Check this link. It has one post, that describes how to check and repair a remote control. Pull up older posts there.
Does the spare remote work? Have you tried to reprogram it? These remotes are very cheaply made and prone to key pad failure. To program the remote click this LINK, if that doesn't work buy anew one on eBay for cheap.
make sure the remote batteries are in the correct + and - way. It could also be that the remote is broken. If nothing comes on when you press the power button and the tv doesn't respond, then the remote is broken and you should buy another one.
check first the batteries of remote control maybe weak or empty charge. if nothing happen even the remote is good check the ac fuse on power supply section for busted test.
On the panasonic remotes the batteries are under the slide down part of your remote. Where you slide the face down to expose more buttons keep sliding it down abit more and you should find two aa batts.
