service manual - 9983344c-760c-443c-a9f1-301292762ca8.jpg
Having the area around the door getting warm is normal but getting hot may indicate a defective condenser fan motor or the condenser coils have become blocked with dust. You are going to need to unplug power, pull your refrigerator away from the wall, remove the front kick plate and the rear cover on the back of your refrigerator to get to the condenser coil and fan just to see what is going on. If the fan is not running strong when plugged in then there may be a problem with the=> 61005323 Condenser Fan Motor Above is a video that will help you on cleaning the condenser coils. If you think there is a problem with the fan motor and would like my assistance please let me know. As for a service manual I don't believe there is one for your model number. I do have a manual that is basically the same thing if you like? Thanks Sea Breeze

Westinghouse wse6100sa side by side fridge. Freezer not cold enough

Check to see that the fridge is level and the doors are properly aligned and closing properly.
If the door hinges are not set properly, the door will not close properly and there will be an air leak around the seals.
If this happens, the fridge will run continuously and all the stuff in your vegetable bin will keep freezing

Old whirlpool freezer door left slightly ajar.light on inside.door won't seal. Rubber on door warm.

FRIDGE COILS or door walls SEEM VERY HOT:

The condenser coils do get hot. They can even be to hot to comfortably touch and this is normal.

The refrigerator should not run constantly but shut off with each defrost cycle.

Running constantly and never cycling off can indicate a cooling problem.

One thing to try is to wait till it has been running a few minutes then open the door and turn your cycling thermostat towards the off position. It should cycle off before getting to the off position on the dial.

If it does not cycle off then it's not getting cold enough to satisfy the thermostat. This is likely the reason the refrigerator runs all the time.

A thermometer in a glass of water can be used to check the temperatures in the refrigerator section.

You can check that all fans are running.

the reason the outer side of the door seal area is getting hot is the compressor is over heating, probably the condenser fan motor to your compressor is bad.
It should be a little warm but not hot. they don't use heaters anymore ( some older models still use heaters) around the doors, instead they use the condenser coils to remove condensation and moister, you might want to check your condenser coils on the bottom or back of fridge to see if they need cleaning
If the condenser coils/condenser fan are all plugged up they need cleaning and/or the condenser may fail or has failed..

The ones that use an electric heater will have an "energy saver" switch that will turn it off.: God is the reason I give you free advice so God is good!

Fridge does not seem cold enough. It is maybe 12 years old. Do I need a new fridge

The heat between the doors is normal but not really hot. if sides and between the doors is real hot then you have an air flow problem. Vacuum coils under it and coils by condenser fan. Check your Condenser fan by compressor.

The fridge seal magnetic around the doors on both the fridge and freezer are extremly hot to the touch.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Your condenser coils are HOT so the front of your unit it HOT. Either the condenser coils are blocked with lint or the condenser fan has stopped running You can place a floor fan pointed at the bottom rear of the unit to cool things off and get by until you get any needed parts or complete the repairs but.. you need to find out what is going on in the condenser coil area. Lint or fan issues. One of the 2. Get rid of the lint, clean and lubricate the fan motor with turbine oil or replace the fan notor. Those are the remdies.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Overheating, seals on Roper side by side are hot to the touch

Hi, When that strip gets hot, it is a sign the temperatures are not cold enough. Put a thermomitor in the freezer. You should get a reading of 0 to 5 above. If not, let me know and we can try and get you through this.

Thanks

My fridge IS NOT getting cold enough. Temp control is maXxed. The freezer seems cold enough and making ice cubes. this is a GE fridge model #TBF16DRB

Try cleaning the coils beneath the refrigerator. Its possible that they are covered with dust and blocking a fresh flow of cool air to help cool the refrigerator inside. Just a little cleaning there will make a big difference. Check your door seals also a small opening will let the cool out and the hot in. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Fridge is getting hot in between the doors

This is called a mullion heater and is perfectly normal as this heater prevents the area between the doors from freezing. No danger at all.
