I have installed Age of Empires II on my Windows Vista laptop, but every time i click to run it it comes up with a window that says "Age of Empires II has stopped working" then in smaller writing it says "Windows can check online for a solution to the problem" it then gives me the choice of checking online or closing the program, I click the "Check online for a solution and close the program" option, it then comes up with another window telling me "Windows is looking for a solution for the problem" it looks, then closes the windo and nothing happens.
It can't be Vista is too modern becasue the trial version works, but the actual game won't.

The error message you got would show up in the following scenarios:
1. DirectX not up-to-date.
2. Video card drivers old.
3. The game being played with a not supported video card.
Check for the above mentioned and it should be either one of them.

It sounds like you have a corrupt file. Try re-installing the game.

you probably need a new one but i know its a collector's edition but get a new one and im gives age of empires age of kings away
