I've had the same problem with mine. The dvd slips out of the tray causing it to stick shut. Take the player apart using a small philips screwdriver (about a million tiny screws)Pull the dvd out, put player back together and your set.

Some have a little hole in the front, you pull the power and use a paper clip. Bend it out so its fairly straight then you poke it into the hole and it unloads the mechanisim. If there is no hole you may have to remove the cover.

Manually open dvd tray

Look next to the DVD tray to find a small hole. Once you have found that hole use a small paper clip and straighten one part of the clip. Carefully insert that extended paperclip into the hole, if you meet resistance apply gradual pressure until the tray opens...if the tray does not open...Remove the paperclip end (straighten the paperclip again and reinsert the straight end of the paperclip straight into the hole. Once you meet resistance press gently again, if you feel the paperclip continue into the hole without bending, continue pushing until the try opens. This is the correct way to open a CD/DVD/Blu-ray tray with or without the power on.

Toshiba DVD player doesn't retract or load media. DVD carrier is stuck in the out position

There is a rubber band on the motor that opens the tray out to load the disc, somehow that must of slip off the motor. Or the motor itself went bad.

Daewoo S04 DVD won't open

The tray is blocked. Unplug and open the player's casing and check for any obstructions and remove it. It might be a disc or something. Check also the gear as you can hear the motor running but the tray don't open.moz-screenshot.png

Daewood DVD-5700 DVD Player ~ Won't play any DVDs

Hi.

There could be several reasons for this problem.

Since the unit has not been used much the lazer
shouldnt be burned out...but it can mean that it collected dust by not being used.

How is the condition of the disc you tried to play?

Are there children in the family...they love to put things in the tray and load it in. =)

A cleaning kit might help if there is dust on the lazer lens.

Regards...

Daewoo DDT-21H9 S TV/DVD tray will no longer open.

This could be a simple belt problem . Or if it is motor driven then you would have to check if there is voltage to the motor or the motor is bad . This would require removing the dvd deck to get to the belt . Good luck
