How do I get the disc drive of a dvd recorder to open after getting out the disc and resetting the machine?

Go back through the release process you did the first time to remove the stuck disk. it appears that part of the mechanism that moves the drive did not engage again.

The Film advance lever wont move, the shutter button does nothing(i can push it down but nothing happens), and the button on the bottom is stuck in. In both cases this happened when there we no film in the...

Okay this is completely on memory. With the button on the bottom pushed in the camera is waiting for your to rewind the film back into the canister after this is done lift the wheel (not the crank it can break) the wheel is just below the crank and the back of the camera will open so you can take the film out. Reload a fresh roll close the door and advance to the first frame you are back in business again.

The screen has gone black. Any suggestions?

Hello. With the camera on, look at the screen under bright light or sun light coming through a window. If you turn the screen just right you may see the display. If this is the case the backlite which lights the screen is burned out or has come unpluged. Most likely gone out. Most repairs are close to the cost of a different camera. One option is to look for repair sites or videos online then buy a parts camera on ebay and try it yourself.

Lens stays open, "turn..off and on again" message. print/play mode closes lens but problem & message return in picture modes. Holding "W" had no effect either

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

"busy" in all modes except non-flash setting on 300d

bad memory card most likely.
try reformatting card in camera.
try battery out for 10 seconds for full reset if that does not work.
may have a problem writing to card.
you can also try another card. cf i believe on that camera.
good luck.

Displaying "push reset button"

A: try a new video tape

B:
try giving your camcorder a few light taps (or not so light, just don't break it) and then turn it off and then on again

this sometimes helps in my experience but it is not a permanent fix and I suggest buying a new camera as soon as possible

C: Somone said that leaving the camera plugged into AC for 20 minutes or so will fix it, I have tried this myself and it MIGHT have worked (I have used it a few times without any problems but that has happened before

Camera does not function. When I push camera button screen says Busy, try again later. If I try the vidio function it says System error, please try again

have the phone's firmware flash and updated and this will correct the issue, this can be done by taking it to a mobile service center or professional technician close to you.
