Ive had plv65whd1 almost a year was watching tv today and tv went off and red power button started flashing i turnedit off waited and then turned it back ongreen power light comes on flashing a few secs can hear tv program then red power light starts flashing no sound of course does this a few mins then green power light flashes a few secs with sound agaiin then red power light flashes again for a few mins then power shuts off

Most likely problem is the bulb, or the ballast. But I would start with the bulb. You can get new ones from www.TvRepairKits.com

you can try to shut the tv off ,unplug the power to tv and anything that is powering the tv[pvr] .now plug in the power to the box first wait,30 seconds or so ,now plug in the tv wait,now turn the t.v. on,WAIT unless it starts smoking just wait.see what happens.

No Picture, but I have sound!

Your color tube has probably went out that is why you have sound but no picture, you will have to call a tv repair place or where you bought it from to get an estimate on having it repaired

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.

Akai PT5598HDX/SMS won't turn on

Just a thaught, I could be wrong, maybe a problem with the power button on the remote ? It might shut the TV off, and when you do keep pressing the remote button, the red light on the TV will keep flashing like that also. Ive seen this prob on a few other blogs, so seems to be pretty common. I know I like to keep the remote pointed at the TV all the time, maybe try pointing it away for a while, just to see.

TV WENT OFF BY ITSSELF

This may denote a proble in either your switching powers supply or your Horizontal section derived high voltage power supply. These are both very dangerous sections in your television. My next question is important; do you have a background in electronics? If not I would not advise you working on this problem yourself and that you take the TV to a repair shop for servicing. If you do have some background in electronics, I would like for you to make the following obeservations: What was the TV doing (it actions)prior to it going out? Did you hear any sounds before it went out like buzzing or crackling? What do you hear when you try to turn it on now, clicking?
