Bissel Vaccum giving a foul odour

Hi

I own a Bissel Cleanview2 bsgless vaccum. The other day, I removed the filters under the dirt container to clean them and put them back as before. Now the vaccum gives out a dirty stench within the first minute of use. Please help.

Hi - here are a few tips!
If the filters are washable they have to be dried completely before putting back into the machine, otherwise you're damaging your vacuum by putting in damp filters which won't do much but put back the stale smell into the home. Generally washing filters should be done with a little washing up liquid, washed out, rinsed, drip dry and dried over 24 hours to room temperature naturally (not on a radiator or heater).
Faster drying should employ the use of a low temperature tumble dryer with the filters placed in a pillow case with a towel added to prevent banging off the sides of the electric dryer when in operation.
Also, whilst the filters are drying take off the main hose of the Clearview and wash it out with washing powder with the hose laid in the bath. Alternatively put wet wipes or cleaning wet wipes down the hose with a stick to get out all matter of dirt - clearview hoses are the worst for stinking especially if you have pets. That should improve the general way of your vacuum and giving it a more neutral smell. Also when everything is dried out inclduing the hose, sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda around so that the vacuum picks it up and neutralises previous odours that the vacuum had from the beater bar/floor head.

Take the filter out of the dirt cup and remove the foam filter from around the paper filter and wash it good with water in the sink then lay a paper towel down and fold it around the filter and dry it .the paper filter is washable run water over it and take a brush and brush the dirt out of it in up and down strokes then let dry.there should be a hepa filter on the side and clean it also.its water friendly also.reach up inside the upper cup above the the dirt cup and there is another filter just turn and it comes down.clean it also

In order to prevent the release of a foul odor from the Bissell vacuum, one can change the bag of the vacuum cleaner which causes bad smell most of the time. For bagless vacuum then you can use soapy water to clean the filters and allow them to dry properly before they used further. Another useful method that I often used is the use of baking soda solution to clean the canister, hose, and filter and rinse these further with water. After that, you can use a clean cloth to dry the plastic material and dry the filter under fresh air. The odor in the vacuum happens for so many reasons. When you have to clean the pet hair, pet stain that time the vacuum sucks the odor too. Which causes odor in the future from the vacuum. It is recommended to apply the best vacuum cleaner for pet hair and hardwood floor.

Vax mach xp reach seems clogged and light is on

Clean the filters as per the user guide AND remove the silver, where the clear plastic handle is. On te back by the purple catch to release the dirt container is a screw - remove that and then remove the 3 screws on the purple lid with holes in it, remove the lid & clean the "cyclones" - mine were all blocked. Make sure all the bits are clean & dry & re-assemble.

My bissel vaccum got very loud all of the sudden

Your belt may be broken, your dirt cup may be full, or you may need to clean your filters. Look at these areas and you can find addional troubleshooting at this link (just select the type of vacuum you have in the dropdown menu): http://www.bissell.com/faqs/?c=330&sc=345&cid=ccsocial

Just bought this Hoover Fusion vaccum used, cleaned it up, checked belt and filter, turned it on and is extremely loud, almost like a scream. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix?

Loud noises from this model are caused by dirt build up on the suction fan mounted directly to the motor. Under the dirt cup there is a filter screen that should have a foam filter insert, when not used or cleaned properly allows dirt to get into the motor. Cleaning is the best option. Although if you are inclined, you can take it apart or take it to your local deaLer.

No suction

have u checked all of the filters. I know that when not all the filters r clean the machine will turn on but then it will sound louder and still have no suction. Most times there is a filter under dirt container thats sits above motor and if this filter is not clean the motor cannot breath. Thus no suction

The dirt is going into the filter

As the air gets sucked through the vacuum cleaner, the dirt is basically thrown out into the container by the spinning air. If the speed that the air is travelling through gets too low, this stops happening and instead it gets sucked through into the filters.

There could be a number of reasons that the air flow has slowed. The most likely is the filters have become blocked over time. Even with regular washing, after 5 years they will not be as efficient as when they were new. I would suggest replacing them (the foam filter and HEPA filter if you have one.)

I would also check that there are no blockages in the main hose, and also give all the component a good banging/brushing to make sure they are nice and clean.

hope this helps,

Matt

Bissell vaccum problem

Could be plugged, check the hose and at the bottom by the brush roll, the inlet maybe clogged. Also check the filter under neath the dirt tank. There are filters above the dirt container, clean those out. If after that it is still loud, then maybe the motor fan or bearins are bad and will have to be replaced, part #2031214 sells for around $55.

Bissel upright vaccum model 6594

Did you check the inlet hose down by the brush roll, it may be clogged there. Your system says that that must be a clog. Did you drop something like a big marble down thru the hose and have go all the way thru?
