I read the other posts about white pictures. My Samsung Digimax S1000 will take indoor pictures, but outdoor pictures are all white. If the Iris is stuck open as said in other posts and it does not seem to be fixing itself, is there any other thing I can do to fix the problem, other than either shaking it side to side? I see all the things that can cause the problem, but not many ways I can fix the problem. In other words, if it does not fix itself is my camera a goner? Thanks, Bodie815
Theres no better way than to open it and fix the Stucked iris!! You stored your camera for so long in the wrong side or not in standing position. Camera mechanism has oil and grease inside (that is the culprit why your iris is stucked), and will tend to settle in one spot if you will keep it not moving for a long time. But if you really want to fix without opening the unit try to use a black board with different size or adjustable center hole, this or these will serve as your camera iris, the brightest uses the smallest hole, experiment what suits you best.

you can also try to cover the lens with filters of different shades, blue filters are the most common light diffuser filters.
Here in my country there is no such things as goner. Fixing things is my life here, but since you are too far away from me, I am trying to help by using alternative ways to make it still usable if not fixed.
