Question about Televison & Video
We have a 42'' plasma tv by Thomson Wysius and want to have Sky installed, by do not know if the tv is HD ready or not, we have read the manual and it does not mention anything about it, can you help?
Strictly speaking to be HD Ready a TV must fullfill 2 things:
1. Have a Screen Resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
2. Have at least 1 HDMI Socket.
Your TV has neither of these, so it is NOT HD Ready, however, it will still be more than capable of showing SKY HD, and it will still look very nice indeed.
I would need a list of the connections on the rear of the TV to tell you which cable to buy, but:
If it has DVI, then a simple HDMI to DVI cable will do for the video.
If it has component, i.e Yb, Yr etc then you will need a more expensive HDMI - Component Video cable.
But otherwise, yes, SKY HD will work fine.
I hope this helps.
