Yes, the with the biggest probability there's a problem with a flex cable. Not every time this if faulty, sometimes there is a problem with the contact only. 1. Open the phone (don't worry, it is easy) 2. Put the green tape down from flex connector. 3. Open the black lock on the connector and remove the cabel. 4. The cable is bent. Try to flat it out (unbend). 5. Put it back, lock the connector and stick the green tape back. Try it. If not, you can try to do the thing with another side (on sub boar-where is the LCD). Display problem

If formatting your phone doesnt help there are three possible problems in order of priority (1) your screen is gone and needs replaced (2) your ribbon cable is gone and needs replaced (3) phone needs flashed, I have repaired the first two above on many samsungs with this fault! Not an easy job! Hope this helps.

your ribbon cable on the inside of your phone is faulty/cut, Can be replaced but not an easy job if you dont have the hands/tools for it!

Normally it is your flex connector problem. Change that. Your phone will be OK.

I have the same problem! (white screen)
And I've red some forum topics, and found the medicine of this. If you take off the battery and whack it to a table or just with your fingers (little bit hard) on the battery side of the telephone, and after it, you switch it on, it will works!!! It works with my phone, but i think?it's just a temporarly solution! flex cable change is the really good choice i think!
so jhust bang your mobiles back some times, and see, that it works. Belive me!:)

SGH-D500 white screen'
when you turn on your phone and the screen is white' even you restarts and nothing change' make sure that your phone is can recieve and you can make a call' the prob. is the flex ribbon of your phone, there is a flex connected in the LCD to the board' or the machine. D500 phone always having this prob, all sliding and flip phone having this prob.

by replacing the flex ribbon' you can solve your prob.
by a skilled cellular technician.
