Kawaski 1986 KDX200 No Spark

I have a KDX200 and I am unable to create a spark. I changed the starter and CDI box and I still cannot create a spark. I want to know if I need the timer case to create a spark. Is there a way to check the CDI box to make sure it works. I have played around with it all winter and have not been able to create a spark. I have tested all pieces and I still do not have a spark.

SOURCE: Im not getting spark on my 1986 kx 125.

Use a volt meter or test light to see if have output. If not check that you have a good ground everywhere. I am assuming that you have changed the plug wire if you went this far. Good Luck

Will cdi box stop stator from firing on a 125cc pit dirt bike

Stator will stop the cdi from firing the spark plug and either cdi or stator if bad will stop a spark from being created. The coil, wiring, kill switch and other things can also stop ignition spark.

Why is my 97 Honda 4 wheeler not getting fire

There are three items that are connected together needed to create spark on your 1997 Honda 4-wheeler, regardless of which model it is.
Before we go through a checklist of these three important parts, look for a black wire with a white stripe that runs to the ignition switch and kill button from the CDI box. Disconnect this wire before it gets to the ignition switch and kill button, then check for spark. The most likely cause is a broken kill switch on the handlebar, or shorted ignition switch. Such a condition grounds this wire and kills the spark.
If this test did not restore the spark, continue reading...
Here is what is required to create a spark.

First, the alternator has one coil which generates a high voltage--about 125 Volts AC for the CDI ignitor box.

Second, there is a pulse voltage generated once every revolution of the engine that goes to the CDI box. This pulse causes the CDI to dump its stored energy from the 125 volt line into the primary of the ignition coil.

Third, If the two connections of the wire that runs from the CDI to the Coil are BOTH SHINY clean, the ignition coil will generate a spark.

If any one of these 3 don't happen, the spark will go away. Of these three, item 3 -- one or two tarnished and/or dirty connectors -- is the most likely cause. Just an added resistance of 0.3 Ohms or more in the CDI to Coil connections will cause the ignition to fail. No other wires have to be this clean.

How to bye pass a scooter cdi box?

You can't, unless you want to push your scooter everywhere. The CDI box stores an electric charge that is sent to the coil to create a spark that makes the engine run. No CDI, no spark at the plug.

Generic Chinese CDI's sell for less than $10 and are perfect, if unreliable, copies of Honda CDI's. Just get the same kind of connector as on your CDI.

No spark on 110cc chopper four stroke what wire is for the spark

The blue with white stripe will go from stator to cdi box. Then black with yellow stripe goes from cdi box to coil will give you spark. If u have no spark and u u haven't changed cdi box or checked coil I'm going to bet that's ur problem. Hope this helps.

Bike wont start. starter will turn over but no spark to plugs.can anyone help?

Check all wiring connections on cdi unit - just follow spark plugs leads back. If all cables are ok then you need to check the cdi unit out. Check that cut out switch is not on, although it should not tunr over, if this was the case

Lost all elce, power while riding my 1980 kawaski 750 ltd 4cyl. just shut down, no elec. power at all now. ck'ed battrey and terminals

It is either the stator plate or coil if not getting spark, if it is just the electronics part, then it is the cdi box or equivelant

No spark

There are a # of things that can take your spark out, first I would see if you have power to your ignition coil (100V+). If none there you need to isolate your ignition switch (unplug it or take it out of the equation) and jump your starter solenoid manually or try pushstarting the bike. If still nothing check for voltage going into your CDI box, if none check for voltage out of your stator (over 100V) and your trigger or pulse coil (over 3V). If you find voltage at the stator and not the trigger replace the trigger and vice versa. If there is voltage for both replace CDI box (but be cautious to verify good ground for CDI box and ignition coil). If you find voltage out of your CDI box (over 100V) replace your ignition coil. Good luck!
