Re: Freezer not Freezing..compressor going off and on!
Let cool down for a few hours like all day then try replacing the realy over load thats in the white box u see buy a 3 n 1 start kit it might start the compressor plus make sure the condensor fan is running too.

If your evaporator is not completely frosting over (top to bottom) this normally means the unit doesn't have a proper charge or the compressor can't pump all the freon as it needs to. I would check the charge, this should read "0", if less not enough, if higher than the compressor is failing. I hope this helps.
The process of Refrigeration is for one section to be hot while cooling another section. I.e freezing in one section result in the heat build up and dissipattion else where. Any compressor working properly is going to be quite warm to the point of being hot to the touch when working NORMALLY. There is nothing that you need to do for the continued safe operation of your compressor. If your freezer has ice build up again in the near future your uint is not defrosting properly. If it functions normally after 2 or 3 days of use then you more than likely had a one time buildup of ice usually caused by someone leaving the door partially open
Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.
the compressor with a picture of an Indian, its a techumseh. Is the compressor running? If not, could be stuck in defrost mode. Since you have looked at the compressor, there is two lines that go to it. If there is an oil cooler, then 4. Follow the line, smaller of the two that goes to the condensor, rad. With the fridge running, use your hand to feel how hot it is, if you find it hot enough that you can't leave you hand on that line, then its an inneficient compressor.
check freezer for frost build up and if fan blowing, check condenser make sure clean, and fan blowing, by compressor
Make sure compressor is running and not shutting off on overload.. u said comp. hot.. should be warm... Not hot
check vents in refrig. make sure no blockage, freezer control should be in the middle setting,
you can try turning that to Warmer freezer allowing MORE air to refrigertor side.
