Blinking green light stays on and TV won't turn on.
The green blinking light won't turn off and won't respond to reset or unplugging the TV. I found a possible repair for a model WS-65813 by replacing 4 capacitors on the DM Board, but the WS-65869 seems to have a totally different DM Board. Does anyone have a fix that a non-electonics expert may be able to complete?

Same Model TV same problem with blinking green light and tv wont turn on. Had a tech come out to diagnose the problem and he said it was due to a bad signal board. $500 for part $200 for labor. I have WS 65869 model, the tv will work for about five minutes, then the color will turn to black and white then picture is gone, only green screen sometimes blue screen will appear, have to turn it off manually. I tried playing a DVD, the picture looks ok for the first three minutes then it will turn green or black and white and the screen will turn to blue or green. I paid more than 4k for this TV in 2001 or 2002, with today's prices, is it worth fixing this TV or buy a new one. Can anybody have suggestions on how to fix this problem, maybe I can stretch the life of this TV. I like the picture and the sound. Power failure shut down my Mitsubishi WS-65869 projection TV. On powering back up the infamous blinking green light came on and failed to respond to the Reset buttom. How can something so frequently encountered in the normal life of an electronic device cause such a comlete system failure? So, what does one do to correct this problem? Have done the Reset and unplug the TV attempt but no results. Have called Mitsubishi but they are of no help.Power failure shut down my Mitsubishi WS-65869 projection TV. Have a Mitsubishi ws-65869. Blinking green light problem. Have had it looked at and repair company says that Mitsubishi is not making the part anymore. Bought it in 2002. Don't want to throw TV away. Why is this happening to all the Mitsubishi TV'S? Paid so much and then to treat it like a disposible TV?? NEED HELP!

We have exactly the same problem. The power went out the other day. I came home and tried to turn on the set with the remote. Nothing but a green blinking light. Pulled the plug for 24 hours and the just kept blinking when plugged back in. Ours is a 65 inch projection TV model # WS-65813

If you have Model WS-65869, I found the DM Board in a covered box in the lower left hand side of the TV after opening the back panel. I don't remember the details of how I got it out, but I had to disconnect several wires coming out of it (be sure to make a sketch so you know where to reconnect). Once you have the box removed, just take off the cover and you should see the capacitors. I did a lousy job of replacing my capacitors, but it still worked - if it happens again, I'll probably take the board to a professional so I don't damage the board.

I just now paid TV technician $190.00 to tell me the DM module is not a replaceable part from Mitsubishi anymore. I paid another one $50.00 three days ago to say it coulodn't be fixed. (Should have listened to the $50 guy).
I called the place where I bought it 6 years ago, and they said Mitsubishi will not service it because it is CRT technology, and that's old news.

the green light blinking is normal if set has been unplugged--when set is plugged back it should blink for about 70 seconds and then go out--then you can try to turn it on---it is the DM unit inside the set booting up.
If the light just blinks and never stops you have likely bad caps in the DM unit---there are kits available for that.
The other possible reason is that so called reset switch may be bad--fairly easy way to find that out and it is more common than you would think, let me know if you have questions.
Hit the front of the tv near the blinking light... give it a good rap or two. See if this helps. Helped mine. I had the same problem and the tech who came out to the house told me that it would work and it did! I could hardly believe it but it worked.
Hi, If the led light flashes green continuously, the fault came from the DM power supply. The faulty parts there are the electrolytic capacitors. Let me know if your handy with electronics and I will assist you to fix it yourself.
I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.
Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.
Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.
Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.
Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.
Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:
Hi my name is Roety, I can help you with your issue , Your Mittsubishi has a system the will cause the green light to blink for 70 seconds when first plugged in, if the green light never stops blinking it is either a power supply issue or a stuck keyboard button. So do the test and reset it to see if the light stops blinking or not. If I have helped you with your issue If you have more questions you can stillrespond I will reply asap Thanks
You most likely have some bad capacitors on the dm board, unfortunately the board is not available for this set, the complete chassis has to be sent in to Mitsubishi to be rebuilt.
Either bad capacitors -vented - on power supply board or bad E2P eprom board on DM board.Probably the capacitors-4-1000Ufd and 2-3300ufd.You should get expert help from reputable tv shop. Not really do it yourself fix either way.
You need to replace the 1000uf capacitors on the DM board thats the classic symptom of the DM caps being bad the light continues to blink repeatedly. If you need more info on the repair let me know.
