To my dismay, my remote control has broken and I am strugling to get a replacement. As I am trying to set up my speaker distnces on the amp, how can I set this up without a remote control? Aditionally, how can get a replacement remote, as a local retail store in South Africa stated to me that they cannot get such a remote anymore.

Zone 2 Setup on the RX-V773 using the ZONE2/PRESENCE Extra Speakers The RX-V773 extra speaker terminals can power one set of speakers for Zone 2 or Presence speakers. If the extra speaker terminals are utilized then the RX-V773 cannot be set for Bi Amp (Surround Back/BI-AMP terminals). Setting the Extra Speaker Terminals Note: The RX-V773 remote control will be used to access the On Screen Menu of receiver. 1. Try this (I hope your system is just stereo.) Buy a jack to fit the headphone plugin. The plug that into the speaker input. That should reroute the sound to the speakers.

I have a Yamaha RX V665 and I am unable to change the volume

The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.

I need a replacement for my logitech z-2300 speaker wired remote control. How and where can I get one?

To the two people with problems. This sounds a bit odd, but do you still have the broken remotes? I'm looking for a broken one. I'd pay shipping and throw a few bucks your way if you could send it to me.

Trying to hook up Zone B stereo speakers in two additional rooms.

The infrared mentioned by the manual is most likely an extension possibility to use the remote control in each room, forget that part.
What you need to do is quite simpel, after connecting all speakers, you should indicate in the setup menu of each zone which speakers are connected and do as follows:
in main room select 5.1 setup, for the other zone select only the left and right front speakers.
Your EXTRA SP indicates the extra speakers for 7.1 setup and when set to zone B it recognises only 1 speaker.

So read carefully the manual how to connect Zone 2 speakers and connect that way, than carefully walk through the setup menu to setup the zone 2 correctly.

Zone 2 volume control

Sounds like the Zone 2 amp was set to external, see below for instructions on setting it back up.
How do I setup Zone 2 on the RX-V661 Using the internal power amp.

Setting the RX-V661 remote control to operate Zone 2
1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the Code set
button. The Transmit indicator on the remote should flash twice.
2. Using the numerical key pad on the remote and key in 9992, the
Transmit indicator should flash.

You will now need to assign the receivers internal amp for Zone 2.

1. Set the remote control selector to AMP. Selector is on side of remote.
2. Press the Set Menu Button.
3. Arrow down to Manual Setup.
4. Press the Enter button.
5. Arrow to the Sound Menu option and press Enter.
6. In the Sound Menu arrow to Speaker Set and press Enter.
7. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2. This may require using LEFT or RIGHT arrow.
8. Press the Return button to exit out and return to the Manual
Setup.

Speaker error

Try checking the volume on your subwoofer i had the same problem. I unplugged the system and had the same error message pop up. So i checked the volume on the subwoofer, and it was set to max, i set it to normal and i haven't had any problems since

There are 2 ways to check your volume

1...On the remote there is a button labeled "BASS" press it, and on the display it will tell you a number between -3 and +3, If no number appears then it should say either "MIN" or "MAX" if it's at max use the volume control on the remote to turn it down to "0"

2...On the remote press "SET UP"
.....Select the Volume icon by using the arrow keys, press "ok" or "enter" to access that icon
.....Select "Speaker Setup" using the arrow keys and enter button
.....Select Speaker Volume by pressing enter
.....scroll down to "SUBWOOFER" and make sure the volume is no higher than +4dB
....Once done press "SET UP" on the remote to exit the setup screen

*Note* - The speaker volume option can only be chosen when nothing is playing on the player, or the disc tray is empty, You also have to be in either, Ipod mode or DVD mode to access this menu.

Hope this solves your problem, and i apologize on the delay of this solution ^_^
