When turning on the Sony KV-28DX20u TV I find that all the program settings have been lost. Have retuned the set but after turning off and on again these settings are again not saved.

Just reset the TV to factory settings and retune it using auto tuning fuction from the Menu option.

To reset it to factory settings, do the following:

Turn on the TV. While holding down "UP arrow" button on the remote control, press the POWER button on the TV. [The TV will turns itself OFF and then back ON again. Release the "Up Arrow button.

This operation will clear all your customized settings including Paremtial Lock settings.
in otherwords, this is the process to unlock the TV if it is locked.
Retune it by autotune fuction. All the lost stations will emerge again.
Ok.

Try a hard reset.

Retune of TV sorted problem out - even though I had already done this previously! Problem with transmitter?

All Freeview channels need re-tuned after 30th September.
To re-tune your Sony TV...

1.Press Menu button then go to settings...

2.Scroll down the menu icons until you get to 'Digital Set-up'

3.Press enter/centre key next to direction arrows

4. Select spanner icon and digital audio tuning.

5. You will then be asked if you want to start digital audio tuning.

6. Press enter/centre button....and thats it!.... TV will automatically re-tune.

Auto program. rescan channels on your TV input. The TV has been scanned on the satellite it is set to pick up the channels that are avaliable on that system.

See my solution for an older Sony set - if yours not Sony, try looking at the website of the manufacturer as I did.

Unplug everythings,replug it.power off/on all devices for rescan or reboots.

The retuning process is as follows:

1. Press the [i+] or MENU button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
5. Wait for the process to complete.

If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

make sure when tuning it you have it set to cable you will find that in menu. make sure you have it hooked up to cable. if you dont it will only program channels it sees. you will be able to see it program and tell if it is working.I hope this help
