Windows 8 monitor Acer al1716 "input not supported"

Got a pink screen when opening Star Wars game... Tried to change resolution to see if something was wrong and guess I put it too high... Got the error message and when I try to boot into safe mode using shift-f8, nothing happens and when I let off of keys it starts the floating screen with the error...not sure what to do to even get on safe mode to change resolution back

SOURCE: Input not support, Acer V193w

Boot into safe mode and go the the device manager and under display component delete your display driver, it will ask you for a reboot. Now reboot to normal mode and Your display will be fine. You may have to reinstall your display driver after this...

SOURCE: During setup, got a "INput not supported" message

Reboot the computer and enter into Safe Mode through pressing F8 repeatedly on the keyboard.

If Windows will not come up, then you have to access the system through system restore.

In windows xp, it's c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

In windows vista, it's c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

This is done through Safe Mode with command prompt or command prompt; depending on the operating system.

SOURCE: acer al1716 monitor input not supported

You get the message because the game try to run at the PC video resolution that you monitor cannot display/support. You need to run your game at native resolution of the monitor.

W17e says "input not supported"

Hi - here's what I found about your wide screen monitor:

The HP Pavilion w17e LCD wide-screen monitor has the following features:
  • 1440 x 900 factory-set resolution
  • Supports VGA analog signal video input
  • Plug and play capability, if supported by your computer system
  • On-screen display (OSD) adjustments for ease of setup and screen optimization
  • Energy Star compliant
Download & install the drivers for the monitor based on the version of Windows you are running from the HP site below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=pe&dlc=es&product=3377546&

Once the drivers are installed, your issues should be resolved - the driver will allow only the modes that can be displayed on the monitor - probably giving you options for resolutions you hadn't seen before.

Moved my al1716 to my computer in the bedroom. Nothin' !

What this monitor is trying to tell you is that your resolution is set to a higher degree than this monitor can support. Turn your computer off, restart then go to safe mode by tapping the F8 key or by holding down the left shift key while it is booting. Once in safe mode set your display resolution in desktop display properties dialog box to some thing easy like 800x600 16 bit color and reboot your pc. This should get you back to normal operating system where from there you can then try to find the highest support resolution for this monitor.
