SOURCE: my cursor keeps freezing and

You may have broken a solder connector in the mouse when shaking it. Try a different mouse, if it doesn't happen with the new mouse you know the old on is the problem.

SOURCE: computer acting crazy

Sounds like you might have a virus or infection that is causing it. Try booting up into safe mode and see if the acts the same way.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If the system runs ok in safe mode then turn it off and reboot as if you are going into safe mode again, but this time take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity). When it boots up, open your browser and download and install MalwareBytes, then run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

Computer won't boot Windows Vista. Screen goes black with cursor arrow.

In this case you have to do the PC restore . you can do that in dell machines by shutting down the machine and when it is coming back on just HOLD DOWN THE CTRL ket and the START HITTING f11 key in this case you will lose the data which you have the on the c drive but this issue will get resolved .

Else you can try to restart in the safe mode with networking and then go to the system restore and then select the bold dates in which you have idea you system was working fine . selct the date and then do the system restore . In this case you will not lose the data but you will lose the updates which you have done after that date .

in both the cases system will work .
