The tv wont power on I opened up the back and once the tv is plugged in led D964, D966, D922 and D947 light up green immediatly with led D912 glowing a constant red. second later D946 lights up there is a little buzzing sound and all the led's go out except D912 which begins to glow red in 1 second intervals. what does this mean?

This looks like a problem related to your High Voltage Protection circuit. This circuit shuts the TV down when it senses a high current condition (a short in a vital circuit). It may not involve extensive repairs, but it will involve some repair work. I can give you a better diagnosis if you do a few things for me.
1) unplug the TV and take the lower rear panel off 2) look at the back of the panel or in the TV for a chart showing you the diagnostic LEDs 3) Look at see if LED D912 is red or not (this may differ in your model, if so write down the numbers of all the diagnostic LEDs and there condition on or off red or green. 4)post these in a reply to this topic.
Once this is done I'll be able to give you some idea of how extensive this may be.
my hitachi model number:55fx48b suddenly just stopped. I can unplug the tv, then turn it back on and red led light will come on for 2 seconds and shuts back off! Can you please help me
I have the same problem. What I did several time is to actually shut down the phone, remove the battery and leave it like that for several hours (3 to 4 hours). Then, I put the battery back in the phone, and it would charge again. However, due to the long time with no battery, the phone's clock would be reset to January 2007.
I found no other work around right now. However, I have to do this more and more often, almost once a week ...
Matt, Hitachi`s have a series of green LED`s and one red LED on the main board, un-plug the tv for 30 seconds and then with the back cover removed plug the set back in and watch the led`s while someone else turns on the set, usually the led`s will temporarily light then one or more will immediately go out and then the rest will slowly go out and the red one will then start blinking, each led is a power supply indicator, 130 volt, 12 volt, 5 volt etcetera, find out which one(s) going out first and get back to me, BMW Rider
if the 120v never comes up, check e994 as it is probably open, and either the blue horizontal retrace cap infront of the h-out transistor is burnt/shorted or transistor could be.
