Infocus Lp290 Will not stay on.

I can not keep my projector on. It will turn on and work great for a few, but then just shuts off at random times and stays off. I have cleaned the dust filters, and a new power cable but I still have the problem.

I have the same problem. Additionally, I must say I noticed that before the engine turns off, the fans stop rotating. So, I assume it turns off for temperature security reasons. Any ideas? Someone told me I should install an upgrade from the official site (www.infocus.com) but I don't have the cables wanted.

I had the same problem. Disassembled the projector and found no obvious reason. Read online that the power supply is weak. While using it another time, SNAP, POP and SMOKE! Took it apart again, found burn marks on the power supply board. No assistance from InFocus as their 'solution' was to buy another one.

Bulb is maybe at 20% of consumption. Terrible waste of energy, technology and materials. We do ourselves no favors through these types of business practices. Thank goodness for sites like this.

Would like to see more manufacturers recognize the long term profit incentive.

Check the area around the fan and make sure you have good airflow. Put a small fan near the unit and direct the air flow so it cools it and let us know.

Hello I have the infocus screenplay 5000 projector & after reading all the posts here decided I dont have a similar problem to anyone else. My bulb life expiration came up months ago but the unit works...

working with expired lamp can cause the overheat, and the power supply will be damadged, you need to replace the chemical caps at secondary parts as shown in the picture below:

Infocus Lp240 Projector Will not power on NEW BULB. Red light Blinks on and off.

The owner's manual should have a troubleshooting chart that will indicate what the blinking lights mean. If the new bulb did not clear it, the problem may be the ballast (part that starts the bulb). Also, when you replaced the lamp, you should also reset the lamp timer. Some units will continue to indicate a lamp needing replacement until the counter is reset. The procedure for that should also be in the manual.

Keep us posted.

The only way you will get your hands on that is by requesting it from InFocus - Ask for the Assembly/Disassembly Manual.
