I have an RCA Home Theater 52" projection TV that has always performed like a champ, but now there is no picture at all. The sound is still awesome but absolutely no video. I've opened the back panel to get a look at the tubes and they do not light up at all, as if they are not getting any power. I don't recall anything happening before this happened. The video simply stopped working but sound has always worked great and still does. The unit is RCA Home Theater model #P52151WK, chassis #PTK169PTB
BAD FBT flyback transfomer

Is the audio coming from the TV's internal speakers, or from an external sound system? In the 169 series chassis, if the power supply caps or secondary rectifier are bad, or if the high voltage splitter has shorted inside, the set will not run and there will be no picture or sound from the TV. If the picture is completely black but the TV still has audio, press the menu button and see if the menu comes up on the screen. If the menu is there, check your cables on the back of the TV. If you are using a cable or satellite box, the box could be bad or the video wire could be bad or loose. If you do not get the on-screen menu, then I would guess that the solder joint next to the flyback transformer that sends filament (heater) voltage up to the picture tubes has cracked, or the low value resistor in the heater circuit has opened up. If that is the case, have the set serviced by a qualified tech familiar with the 169 series chassis.

I have a 60 inch projection TV. All of the color bulbs have been replaced. That didn't seem to fix the problem. It seems like it is not getting enough power to make it work.
I have a similar issue in that no video is available if I use the standard RCA video inputs (on all 3 of the video inputs front and back of TV). However, I do get a picture if I use the component video RGB cable inputs on the back of the TV. I'm pretty sure there is sound if any of the audio cables are connected. The TV was working fine until I moved it from Florida to California. Any ideas??
picture is out but when i bang or wiggle wires sometimes it comes back on i can also hear a crackling noise or zapping noise from the front right side of tv
Tv comes on but with no video or sound. One minute it worked well and the next time we turned it on, the timer and lamp lights flash, no picture or sound comes on and then it turns itself off.
Same Problem. Great audio, no video. Chirpping sound when I start it, then the power button blinks 6 long blinks then 1 fast blink. Any ideas?
