Hi Don't know if you have solved this or not, but when you get the 2 seconds of sound do you have any picture? Its been my experience in working on these types of sony's that what your describing with the flashing light is more than just a cable connection problem, usually a High Voltage or Power Supply problem, and the shut down circuit is kicking in giving you a flashing light to indicate this, definitely a problem for a certified tv tech to fix. Your h out stage is shorted fbt this job is better left to a sony service centre after the parts are fitted it needs a special setup
Sounds like the either the connection from the cable/sat box is loose or the board connecting the cables to the tv is loose. If you try unplugging and then reconnecting the cables and hold the cables in tight that might give you and idea. If you hold the cables in tight and the tv works right, then you know its your board. If thats the case the Tv needs to be serviced. Otherwise you might try using some other cables.

Our Sony Trinitron has a little different problem. No sound comes on before it goes into stand-by mode. It started about 6 weeks ago. At that time , we unplugged it for 2 days, tried to turn it on, and it came back on. We just let stay on 24/7 after that. This last week, I was sitting at home watching it, I accidently hit the power button, I guess. It went off and has not come back on, even though we tried the same procedure.
While watching a movie our Sony KV-27V65 went blank with no sound, the standby indicator started blinking......the Tv has remained in this state ever since.

I'm having the same issue my tv stopped working and the standby light flashes. But if I unplug the tv for a few days then plug in back up it works for maybe a day or two please help!!
So I have a Sony Trinitron and just a couple of days ago, the sound went out while I was watching TV. It was connected to speakers so I unhooked those and tried with just the regular TV speakers but no luck. Any suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks
