Re: jvc 24" widescreen tv problem turning on
The tube is not blown or the Tv would not turn on at all.
I would say its probably a bad cable or the board that the cables connect to the back of the Tv with is either loose or bad.
Try replacing the cables first, then try holding the cables very snuggly in place and seeing if that gives a solid signal for more than 15 seconds.
If that doesn't do it, you probably have a bad input card. You would need to have the TV serviced or get a new TV

Rule out any loose contacts in power outlet, RC Jack, cables and connectors. The problem described by you calls for opening the back cover and further investigation, which should only be done by a qualified service technician.
When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me. Take a close look at your power button as it appears that it is going out do to normal wear and tear.
have youtryehave you tried going to menu options and turning off the power save you might try changing the scart cable any interferance will cause the tv to turn of. my little boy often knocks the scart lead on my set an the tv turns itself off when he does this ,. hope this helps good luck
Most likley what it could be is an interferance in the TV. Modern TV's have a feature that will shut itself off when it is not receving a picture. For instance, after so many minutes of "snow" it will shut off.sometimes this can make the TV think there is no signal at shut itself off.Anyway, I suspect its an interferance issue. Perhaps moving the TV further from the source of the interferance might help.
I'm not sure what TV model you have. But, thing I can tell you is the most common problem.
Most of the time with flat panel TVs, the power supply for the screen fails. And the TV normally turns itself off to protect other parts in the TV from being damaged. Basically " Protection Mode".
You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself; then try again turning it on. If it doesn't work after that, it's time for the TV repair shop.
Capacitor failure is the most likely scenario the FMT ans Signal PWB would cause the picture interference and the power pwb would cause the lamp light to turn red and give a 34 code when the device/ input and menu buttons are pressed in together and held for five seconds. That chassis has issues with every board in the chassis having failed capacitors you can get repair kits for the V26 chassis at the follwing link that come with instructions. Your model is the V26 chassis. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Good thing the tv is under warranty, theres no magical fix for a problem like this. I would either return it to the store or call for service. If you atempt to do to much to fix it you might voide the warranty, and you should have to do anything to fix it as you said its 3 days old.
hey, i got my ps3 over ebay also. does the console itself come on, just no picture? if that is the case, as what was going on with mine. then it is easy. plug it in as normal, and hold the button for 5 seconds as u turn it on. (make surethe switch onthe back of the console is one too) by holding the button for 5 seconds to turn it on, it is making the ps3 kinda set itself up to ur tv. hope this helps.
Symptoms are not related, what you hear is the high voltage turning on and that is normal if it only does it for less than a second, the grainy picture might be intermitant, dont turn it off, when the picture is grainy tap the side of the set to see if it racts and if it does you know you have a loose conection. This could be outside because of a loose ground on tha cable or inside in the tuner.
