Top part works bottom part do not work.lights are on
I'm assuming its a fisher and paykel, you will certainly need more info. Do you have an led display or 3 buttons and lights. Any fault codes, flashing beeping when buttons are pressed etc. If everything is normal no unusual beeps lights etc but nothing AT ALL happens when you press start it is the door 'switch' which is actually a light that is reflected through a plastic prism and back to itself ( originates from the board) check the prism top right drawer frame. Just compare to working drawer. If not more info required.

sewnice, you might have to dig a little deeper to correct the problem. As long as you can spin the spray arm with your hand and it's not split it should be ok. Your chopper screen might be plugged. You will have to remove the lower spray arm and filter cover. These are torq screws. The accumulator assy. turns to the right to unlock and will lift off. It will take some pressue to snap it off the rear fill tube. Now you will be looking down at the cover that protects the chopper and screen. There is one torq screw holding it down. Remove the screw and lift it off. See if the screen is clogged. If it is, it will prevent the pump from sending water to the upper spray arm in force. Catriver..post back

spin the top rotary arm to make sure it spins freely also take it off to see if its blocked (run it under tap) check all other filters too and when you load dishes make sure they do not obstuct top rotary arm if none of this works then it's time for an engineer im affraid good luck

Sounds like you have 1 of 2 problems. Either your pump is clogged or you need a bigger drain loop.

hold all three bottons: power, pause and start and power cycle the unit, it will reset the dish washer.
